One or two on here said amrabat should be playing.
Each to their own obviously, but I thought bringing in a 38 year old was a waste of time, effort and money,as was Sharp the year before.

Obviously it was a desperation measure due to missing our targets again but hopefully we've got no intention of bringing in a golden oldie this season!!

And yet he put in more effort and had more impact than most if not all of our other signings. Of course now there will be a pile on quoting stats and stuff but that's the impression I and a few others had. Billy Sharp made no impression and most of the time you never even realised he was on the pitch.

I'm not knocking his effort but I never rated him.

As for the pile on or stats, not from me you won't:emoticon-0148-yes:

He's fascinating to listen to sometimes. He gives a lot away even if some of it is confusing. I think he's a good, principled person, but he really does need to be less opinionated about players. Still talking about Pandur and now Amrabat too, bizarrely insisting that he was our best winger. He's a fan and he's passionate about the game, which is a good thing but it makes us say and think stupid things and so he needs to trust the professionals on these decisions.

Matazo? Really? I wouldn't have thought so and i didn't get that when he was discussed earlier today.
He told me that he really pushed for him. Said it was an expensive deal overall but he was one he really wanted. When I asked how we got him when he has played a lot for Monaco and Belgium U21s etc, he said that we had to agree to let him go if we get certain offers and that he doesn’t think he will be here too long if he makes a good recovery from injury.

Maybe he was one of the options put to him and the one he then pushed for?

Interesting. The reported fee was only £2 million if I remember correctly. Not cheap but not as expensive as some of our other signings. I’m guessing he’s on high wages?

I agree , you have to really listen to what Acun says, he does give out lots of interesting little insights into the club and what happens. Tonight he said he himself personally dealt with the Philogene transfer to Villa.

By now, anyone who listens to run must know that things get lost in translation. He doesnt slag players off, he doesnt slag managers off, he might indirectly state his thoughts. I think it just goes to shelve any thoughts that he picks a team and lets the incumbent get on with it. This time, as has been said, theres a different vibe.

And not playing Amrabat enough. He referred to that twice, at least.

When he first came in Amrabat made one or two really poor appearances.

I wasn't impressed at all - he only really came good in the final 3 games and even then its because he looked the best of a bad side. Not many were saying he should be involved until then.
