I think that what Leicester have done last season will be mirrored by many teams this season. The getting the ball forward in double quick time. If it means by passing the midfield then so be it. Thud has the ability to do that, but we have to have some pace to connect with that.Agreed. Probably the best thing about his passing is his ability to effortlessly ping a precise ball 70 yards froms a standstill with either foot. Play him further up the pitch and you take away the opportunity to do just that.
Not to mention he's not the most mobile, playing further up off the striker he has to cover the width of the pitch and bomb into the box to support the striker and back out to cover. That's not going to happen the striker would just be left isolated.
