Okay maybe i do need to lighten up... had just woken up when i put that comment on which doesnt help. And yes it is through leeds coloured blinkers and i am one of the few leeds fans that are actually quite optimistic of the season ahead. I have actually seen Cork play a few times and am a little bit happy we didnt sign him. I have also seen chamberlain play a couple times last season, Maybe he had off days but i dont see it in him... And to be fair you must admit their has been arrogance from both sides in fairness on this thread maybe i am a culprit.

shall we kiss and make up......... nah, better just shake hands.

Are you going to the game?

i'd prefer cork over brown tbh

it depends what team. For leeds i would prefer brown anyday over cork just because we lacked the experienced midfielder to calm em down last season and he is really a different type of player, i kinda think that cork is a little overrated, if he was so good why wouldn't he have gone to a prem club as one for the future. Then again lets see what he can do for you guys

Alrite then

cant see the game though, moved to australia, am getting really depressed that i cant watch games anymore. This is the first season that i have been away and ive found it tough for pre-season games lol. But then alot of games are being shown on TV but still not the same is it

If they were worth half that, Bates would have sold them already.

Thats what we rate them as though lol. We turned down a 5mil offer for snoddy from norwich and a 2.5mil offer for max from West Ham. We dont actually sell as much as what people think (including leeds fans)

about 4 clubs wanted him. he has played for england at every level. he is going to be a cracking player.

All 4 clubs were in the championship though.. Am i right?

Im not saying he'll be a bad player for you guys, just saying that what i have seen off him, i havnt been impressed (i must sound like a proper miserablee old fart at the moment, just complaining lol)

In the Newcastle programme, it said they're going to open a Queensland Whites Members Club this season and anyone interested should contact the club (Lorna Tinkler I think). I imagine they're based in Brisbane so I guess if they get enough names in, they'll be able to book some venues to show some Leeds games.

And regarding someone's comment about Bates selling anyone worth money, that's rubbish. He's in it to ejaculate his ego, not to make profits.

Simion, Simon, Simon :headbang::headbang:

I/we aren't saying our players are better than yours, we're saying that you lot are being blinkered in the "he's the best in the league" approach. You can't possibly know that as you haven't seen all the others play enough!

And if he was, where is the big offer for him..... and don't go telling me Norwich wanted him, or I'll laugh. Do you want Fergie or Wengers mobile number?

And whre in that post did I mention your players? I saw every one of the "top " players in the league last season and thought Snoddy was easily better than all of them, I was saying it's harder to judge him against Nolan and Parker because they've never played in the same division. In a world where Andy Carroll's worth £35m then Snoddy is worth easily the £8m we've valued him at, and only because he's not played in the PL yet.

We actually don't sell anywhere near as much as people like to think. The only key player we've ever sold under Bates is Delph, and that was for absolutely silly money. £6-8m for a teenager who's never played above League 1.

I hope the games a good'un and good luck to the Saints fans who by and large have proved to be a decent lot, unlike the Brizzle fans who have managed to turn a thread about Neil Kilkenny into "let's slag Leeds for no apparent reason".

Nolan played for Newcastle season before last in the championship, scored 17 goals from midfield and almost single handedly got them promoted.
Scott Parker was Football Writers player of the year last year for the PREMIER DIVISION, and is a current england international! They are both easily better than Snodgrass!
