I'd expect Maguire to start often next year and with the core of the defence contracted for two years I am already confident that we will not get relegated next season. What a feeling eh? to go into a competitive league and probably not go down. Not used to having such confidence in July tbh.

We shall soon know which way the wind is blowing and we have the small matter of the name change coming up as well as the council legal action over the Airco.

Hull City Football Club do not need to get rid of all the players for financial reasons but there will be a few that we can't avoid losing. If they want to go, get shot of them. This thread is going to get busy.

Big guys always look slow and lumbering (I'm not saying he's fast), take Quinn for example (opens the door for more abuse) his little legs will be going ten to the dozen, but I bet he's no quicker.
Maguire is the only Centre Back we have that can take the ball out of defence without hoofing it.
and Chester and Dawson and Davies....

My interpretation of events is that SB was simply planning on strengthening his 25man PL squad by natural wastage. By that I mean letting the contracts of Quinn, Rosenior, McShane etc run down and then replace them with better quality players. That's why Quinn and Rosenior both fired broadsides at the manager - it's a natural reaction by someone not offered a contract extension to say the manager didn't want me. But it was just part of the transitional process.

His plans have back-fired with relegation and now we're letting go the very players that we would need to give us a chance of promotion, to be replaced by - well we don't know who yet ?

Well it looked like we could end up being in trouble even before Christmas so he needed better long term planning if that was his plan.

Newcastle and Southampton fans warned us, which 2 clubs would be in a better position to judge?

It would depend on circumstance, I certainly wouldn't assume that because we signed someone who play's for Uruguay that we should disregard those who got us where we were.

No, he wasn't good for a season, he was good for about 3 months, until the Fulham game, after that he's varied from average to ****e. Once more, Quinn has been more effective that Huddlestone for around 18 months.

It isn't an exaggeration at all. I would say Diame was our best midfielder but he's crocked, and Bruce has said as soon as he isn't he'll be gone. Therefore, I firmly believe Quinn was realistically our best midfielder.

Now Huddleston has less games on TV I wonder if we'll see even fewer good performances.

The whole Diame thing pisses me off. Why is he gone if he is fit? Is he in the last year of his contract?

Swansea look to be doing good business so far, I still fancy them make an offer on James Chester. Chessie is into his final year at City so we may be tempted if good money is offered.

Our kid gets on well with one of the lasses from the Club shop. Apparently any realistic offers will be considered for the players.

Quinn is the first of quite a few to leave.

The people who work in the club shop don't even know what they've got in stock, never mind what our transfer policy is. <laugh>

How much were we offered for Quinn?

I wanted Quinn to resign for us. He'd be an asset.
We offered a two year deal. A club recently relegated from the PL and favourites to go back up.
Quinn chose to go to a team who finished 19th in the Championship. With a Scotch prick as a manager, a poor one at that. On a 3 year deal.

Bad choice Quinny. One you will regret.

Spot on and totally agree with ^^^^^ this. Reading will do well to be top 10 this season. imo.

It must be the sun though.!!!!!!

Reading seem to be going for it, they've already signed a decent looking striker from Legia Warsaw(Orlando Sá), Quinn and now McShane, they're also supposed to be bidding for ex-Tigers Myhill and Donaldson.

I've just seen some rather depressing numbers on Twitter...

We currently have 23 senior players, four of them are injured, at least three of them are expected to leave, one of them is suspended indefinitely and three of them have never made a league appearance for us.

We've a fair bit of work to do.

It is only 1st July ffs.

. I'll check with my contacts at the snooker club. .

You don't have any as you are banned. No riff raff allowed. FACT.
