there’s options and then there’s way too much. Aluko has signed today knowing he is nowhere near their starting line up. God knows why Barry has gone there if he won’t be guaranteed starts at his age

they’ve signed players that will know they won’t play regularly and are there for the money.

that ain’t gonna end well

Mate of mine is an Ipswich fan. They are looking to shift Jackson, and Norwood has a similar fitness to Maguire. He also said they will be playing Barry on the wing.

He wasn't too bothered by the Aluko signing as he didn't feel they needed him, but will probably play the opposite wing to Barry, or different option up front.

Mad Bob happens to have randomly bumped into somebody who works for Sheffield United today who happened to know for certain that Jebbison is a done deal.

edit - ha he has now edited his post as he obviously knows how ridiculous it is

He clearly hears some stuff but also very clearly just makes so much up. It’s like he’s had a taste of ITK and loves the buzz of it so wants to keep recreating it

Heard this last Friday, but also got told Gibson was done, but looks like he's off to Sheffield Wednesday, also got told jebbison would be with the number 9 and in the squad this weekend, lads usually good, must of been on something last Friday like <laugh><laugh><laugh>

No idea mate - I'm not even sure the £1.3m is accurate. That was a different report from a random Portsmouth paper a few weeks ago - could be a completely different player.

I'd imagine the type of deal we / Spurs might accept is:

  • Up front fee - £1.3m
  • Buy back expiring after 3 years (end of initial contract) - £6m
  • Future sell on to other clubs - 40% of profit

crazily I’m seeing people talk about this structure on RTG as if somebody has heard it as fact.

either I’ve absolutely nailed it with a guess that I spent 10 seconds thinking about, or somehow Chinese whispers have made people think this is true.

i can guarantee everyone I have no idea about anything.

I certainly hope this isn’t where that lillywhites Twitter feed got the news from

Before the edit:

"I'm missing 1st home game cos I'm at a bike rally, in Yorkshire.
However, one of the lads here works for Sheff Utd in the main office.
He claims Jebisson (notice HE CLAIMS) its a done deal
He was at AOL yesterday for meeting with his agent and Speakman.
This is not my info so just wait see if its true."

I'm missing 1st home game cos I'm at a men's shower meet in Yorkshire late at night.

He claims Jebisson (notice HE Claims cause I'm obvs making all this **** up) its a done deal (but obvs not cause I'm a ****)
He was at AOL yesterday for meeting with his agent and Speakman.
This is not my info so just wait see if its true (but obviously.... Its not.)

Aye Jebbison drove all the way up just to speak to Speakman for an hour and head back down. When we have zoom.

Madbob. If you're reading this, I hope you get covid at the match tomorrow and I hope one of the four balti pies ya buy at half time scalds ya windpipe ya utter wind up merchant haha ps hope one of the plastic bags swirling around the pitch wraps round neek

I mean, if we are doing a deal for a kid as highly rated as this our hierarchy surely expected these terms to be added by them, especially by a club owned by Daniel Levy

I've often wondered how much Joe Lewis has to do with the running of the club. Levy is his Chairman and has been for years. Joe must just sit back and count the dosh roll in.

Considering our first 11 currently has Winchester RB and Neil LB, then definitely without any doubt. Let’s see in 4 weeks time.
Both have acquitted theirselves well in pre season, it’s not a problem when the window is still open and we don’t play them until 20th nov. I’m gonna take a quess that their squad won’t be as good as ours when it’s time to meet them

It’s why I’m refusing to get carried away about Cirkin. We seem to be struggling to get deals over the line at the minute.

It’s alright, Stewie D’s Vet is setting them straight. He seems like a great lad ;)

Standard deal TBF. I am sure the absolute whoppers will think that the buy back clause will be what we have planned to pay initially.

You want good players from the PL? In league one ?

Get used to it. Doesn't mean it's a bad deal at all.

Agree.....standard for a player highly rated & expected to make it. had we been signing a kid from spurs who had sort of 'failed' during his time there they wouldn't be bothered about the clauses....certainly not a buy back because they would know he would be very unlikely to be good enough for them.....this lad they clearly think there is a strong chance. fingers crossed done asap, minutes against port vale then straight in next sat
