Journalists read the forums and, as I've been told by one, create accounts and thrown down bait so they get the right answers to quote.
The trouble is they try to make a few posts look representative of the entire fanbase.

yes - but they can either buy the shares in Sunderland that madrox hold, or the shares in madrox that Donald holds.
They only need to check the owner, not everyone who becomes involved.
I had shares in SAFC and never once had a knock on the door from the EFL.
it looks like Nixon is using a generic guess work that all clubs need to submit to.. Watch the BBC parliament Select committee on Football 25th November..(I don't know the link to post). A regulator for football clubs will be in place within two years from what I've watched...
Donald and Methven got checked by the EFL when they took over then Juan underwent it after the takeover was done so hopefully it’s a similar process

I’m now massively re-assured by Nixon’s tweets this morning. The first one was written in a way that suggested further delay. But actually the “series” now reads like he’s saying it’s pretty much done but even more people will get involved. Which is good news.

Nixon is almost always right about us. He’s vague for obvious reasons. I’ll be doubly reassured once he indicates the FPP stuff is resolved but he’s currently saying it isn’t.
