He should be playing Huddlestone for me in these types of games. I wouldn't have Tom in the side against pressing, quick teams like Arsenal or Liverpool but he keeps the ball well and can pick a pass well, we miss that at the moment.

Phelans hands are tied. After the equaliser, any other team would bring someone off the bench to go for the win. He has no options. Similar early season when we had a bench full of kids. Hanging on vs Manure, everyone knackered after chasing the game but only kids on the bench who he clearly didn't trust, as no subs made. . Its a laughable and probably unprecedented in premier league history
Phelans hands were not tied when he picked the team. The first 45 mins were terrible again today.

interesting to see the team we had last time we played West Brom almost two years ago - almost same points - same result against West Brom, still in bottom 3 - Phelan certainly isn't doing any worse than Bruce, yet he had a big flag saying 'In Bruce We Trust' and reading this thread, Phelan's a useless **** - and just as a reminder based on the same fixtures - Phelan's on 11 points, Bruce managed 7 - next game Newcastle at home, Bruce lost that, then Boro away, Bruce lost that as well

but he had the tactual nous to change things at 1/2 time.
Diamonde has to start the next game, you couldnt expect him to play 90 minutes after he was suspended - he had to get back up to match fitness.

Only 4 mentions of the Bruce word. you must be getting near to getting over him.

I agree - unfortunately Bruce (5) gave him a new contract and we don't have anyone else - personally I would tell him to go on gardening leave until his contracts up - or tell him to play Pokeman with Junior - and yes he was **** for the few seconds he was on

Sorry but Meylers still better than some of our considerably more expensive 'new arrivals'.

If Allams valuation of £100 - £130 million is based on Hernandez at £20 million, Mason at £13 million and Livermore at £8 million then he's totally deluded - furthermore, Snodgrass at £9 million with a contract that ends at the end of the season is worth almost £0 in reality - we must be first port of call on Levy's to sell list - I was hopeful about Mason, unfortunately he's failed to make any impression whatsoever

It's another Thudd situation, big signing but we carnt find a role for him. 3 years from now he'll be getting splinters like Tom.
Scatter gun transfer policy, spend big on a player we don't need because we can't accommodate him.

I don't really think he can't fit in. He's a centre mid supposedly. The problem is we have no wingers. Presumably we'll go back to playing Diomande wide left and the shape we started the season with for the next league game. It'll be interesting to see whether Mason starts in the middle or misses out if that does happen. He really should be our best midfielder.

Unless you choose to believe that Mason was hooked because he was apparently ill... in which case thats debatable...

Which is why he'll be gone in the January window. No contact offered to him would encourage him to stay at this cesspool unless we had new owners and assurances.
