Moreno simply takes off too quickly, yes he should be looking forward but he goes too far to quickly and that is exactly where he needs to improve. He was better in the 2nd half overall.

Lallana losses the ball, it happens, if everyone's in the correct position it won't matter too much. Moreno's fault no doubt.

Moreno shouldn't commit forward until it's safe to do so. However, Klopp may have asked him to bomb on regardless.

My gripe with Moreno in this game is the two crazy tackles; two footed on Ramsey and then the penalty.
You had clear possession of the ball right near the halfway line, how safe do you want it to be?

Lallana had the ball about 1/3 of way into our half with man up his ass and rest of Arsenal team ahead of the ball....

Anyways - I'm buzzing! 3 points away at the Emirates. Since Klopp has arrived, we have taken points at the Etihad, Stamford bridge and now Emirates.

True, but Moreno wasn't "bombing forward" either, he was jogging up (still behind the ball) to provide a wide outlet (there was acres of space ahead of him). I don't rate Moreno at all as a defender but at least try to be fair.

I just compare him to Clyne, whose positioning was much further back. Clyne knows what he is doing, Moreno probably doesn't even know what day it is.

Without watching today's game, Clyne's ability going forward is shockingly poor.

I suppose it's all about balance. Moreno's ability to defend is on par with Clyne's ability to attack.

Didn't say he was :p...............he was too far forward at that point in play, it's simple

The thing is Clyne is better than Moreno at attacking as well, just so much more intelligence and realises you don't need to bomb forward at any given opportunity...

On the talk of FB's.

Pep plays his FB's inside as Central Midfielders when pushing forward and leaves his wingers on the touch line, odd tactics that I've never seen in the PL. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

ooh you're pushing it now
watch todays game first
yep Clyne going forward has no final ball but Moreno defending is again awful the 2 don't cancel each other out if for no other reason than their primary responsibility is to defend

Yeah saw them talking about that on MOTD last night... was strange. Makes you think if you keep your wingers wide and win the ball back there is huge space their to exploit.

Dani Alves ? don't think so. He may have done so with Lahm sometimes though.

But the flip side is if they play it well and win the ball they have 6 players in midfield to push through a team. Interesting for sure.

So many errors in that Penalty...

Hendo's **** clearance... Coutinho going to control then bottling it because Walcott got near him and then Moreno's rash tackle.

Ahh right, I thought you meant that's the way he usually plays <ok>

He does <laugh>

It's done seamless usually so hard to notice, his old teams know when to tuck in and when to stay wide.

Yesterday the FB's were totally new to it so it stuck out like a sore thumb!
