I've given Tottenham the false hope that I've left their board. I mean I have temporarily, but If Newcastle finish top 4 I don't think I'll keep my word. I'll pop over to the Liverpool thread and weave my web there Today.
Arteta hinting that Saliba may be back in training tomorrow but still with only one day of training in the last few weeks seems he'll be unlikely to start.
If our defence starts off as shaky as it has in some matches this season and Liverpool get an early goal or two we could be in for a difficult afternoon. Think what they did to Man U.
Thankfully, we're a much more solid outfit away from home than at home. 9 clean sheets away vs 3 clean sheets at home . We seem to be more stabilised away from The Emirates. That being said, Liverpool have lots of potent attacking threats and can kill you in transitions. Their home form is also the 3rd best after ours and City's. We will have to dig deep at times tomorrow, but if we want to be deemed serious title challengers, we must try and win tomorrow.
I'm with you on this one, if we do drop points here, we must get something out of the City game. This is squeeky bum time!
I think the key thing is that we leave Anfield with something. A win would be incredible. A draw would be acceptable, and I don't think it would halt our momentum too much either. A loss and I worry about how this may affect us moving forward. 4 hours until kick-off. I've been stressing about this game all week . Just want it over with.
Team as expected. I’m guessing Saliba was close to making it, but just misses out. Really hope Holding doesn’t do any stupidness and that he is protected.
Martinelli! 1-0! What a great trap and excellent build up. Let’s keep this up and don’t concede instantly like we tend to.
Liverpool almost make it 1-1 against the run of play. Liverpool’s diagonals in behind Zinchenko and White are causing us problems. Robertson should have put that away.
White booked for winning the ball. Nice one ref he couldn’t really do much about the follow through there.
Need to be careful as Liverpool have the pace and power to get at us if we carry on being lackadaisical with our passing from the back.
