I may have this wrong, but I think Tobes has conceded that Koeman tried to use the Everton approach as a means of improving his terms at SFC, before deciding to accept their offer. If that is the case, however EFC try to spin it, their, more intelligent, fans will recognise that Koeman has moved for the money, and not because he wanted the job. It will be very interesting to see how they react to a run of 1 win from 9 games, especially as Koeman sits slumped in his seat, arms crossed as he often did, when things weren't going well. Another point. It has been asked, "Why would we offer Koeman a new contract, if the issues in the Jack Schitt post were accurate"? Maybe, just maybe, the new contract, that Koeman initially agreed, addressed all of the issues, and the board were prepared to trust he would come into line.
Tobes mate a lot of the information coming forward at the moment regarding Koeman is authentic. Certainly about how he has treated some of our academy players and some over the negotiations recently held at St Mary's. We as a Forum have been discussing a lot of these academy issues since RK had a meeting with our board in January. What exactly happened in the recent negotiations with Everton is not entirely clear. Some are facts and some is speculation, but he has not actually signed yet for Everton. That is a fact, although it is reasonable to assume he will do next week. However something has come up, something to do with your representatives, some sort of query, about his previously agreed contract with you is what I understand. I won't speculate as to what this is as I haven't really a clue. However I'm pretty sure he will be signing for you early next week. So hopefully he is more up front with you guys in the future compared to how has treated us.
The club has said nothing so far....that is par for the course, so theoretically anything can happen (though there is probably only one outcome). It may be annoying that no announcement has been made, but perhaps Saints have learned the hard way....Kreuger doesn't want to get caught out again, does he? Koeman will be back tomorrow and will do whatever.
That is true, however it is rare someone signs a deal while they're on holiday. Also the query/problem re his new Everton contract didn't come up until after he left anyway.
Wow - I've just read all of this. Probably a good job my utility room flooded from the flash storm we had (the day before I go to Asia!!) Anyway, the only thing I'm going to add, is that it is so funny because it seems that ALL Saints fans have moved on from Koeman and Tobes is desperately defending anything that suggests that their new manager MAY be joining them almost by default. Tobes, you came in with a cocky tone a few weeks ago, looking to wind us up with a bit of bragging. Turns out looking like Koeman is going to Everton (don't forget that even though you said that at the start, you then also said he wasn't because he turned you down), so be happy, you're getting your man. I'm just wondering why you are so desperate to correct these stories if there is no element of truth in the fact Koeman played this very badly and it looks like Everton aren't getting the man they want because you are too great and fantastic to turn down. You're getting him and all the best with that. Saints have moved on. We've moved on. Why don't you just move on now?
