Most likely scenario: Ron signs for Everton. Tiny chance he decides not to and looks elsewhere for a job or goes on gardening leave. No chance he will stay here.
It's not a 'version' it's the way it panned out.
I think £6m a year might be the answer btw....

Where's this - I can't find it on Twitter - deleted tweet or me being blind?Club historian Duncan Holley has waded in...
I am pretty sure JS's post is pretty spot on at least as far as the club sees it as a couple of things tally exactly to what I have heard. I would also add I am 99% certain that this post originated directly from the club. With Koeman back tomorrow the release of all this info - which adds up pretty much - is perfect timing. Tomorrow or Tuesday will be interesting!
It's on SaintsWeb in the Koeman thread. Duncan is FitzhughFella.Where's this - I can't find it on Twitter - deleted tweet or me being blind?

I'm sort of with Tobes here, it makes a good story and makes us feel better but something doesn't ring true with me. We wouldn't be showing our "5 year plan" and offering him an extension if the board did not want him.
I still believe that the major motivation for Koeman going are the wages and that still makes him a lying, greedy, dishonourable person in my book.
Yeah, he says that while Koeman was away on his first holiday we made contact with his former agent.
We were in talks with his former agent weeks before that. He also says that his agent refused the approach and that Koeman knew nothing about it. This is also cobblers, Koeman knew exactly what was being proposed.
Koeman sacked his agent before he went to the Caribbean on holiday. He also said that we'd been turned down by Emery by this point. We hadn't, we only went to Emery when Koeman had himself said no - about 10 days before his change of heart. He also says that we used Jansen, we didn't, we were using Mendes in our managerial search. It's full of inaccuracies which is one reason why I took it with a pinch.

Ah, the only Saints site I actively avoid. Lurk the UI & reddit, but totally gave up on SaintsWeb. Is it better than it used to be?It's on SaintsWeb in the Koeman thread. Duncan is FitzhughFella.
Have you read the post?
Of course we wanted to keep Koeman, we offered him a new contract.
The point of the post is that Saints were not willing to keep Koeman at all costs. That we didn't think of him as highly as he thought we did and he gives the reasons why we didn't up our contract offer.
The post comes across as negative as it lists the reasons we didn't think he was worth the pay rise
Read the thread of posts on there with regard to the current Koeman situation ---> http://sotonians.com/chat/saints-next-manager?p=8
It's merely the way it works mate. You don't ask a club for permission to speak to their manager without having already sounded them out. Same goes for players. If your first statement is correct and I was an Everton supporter, (thank goodness I am not), I would be a bit concerned that you approached his agent without our permission, it is no different than talking to him personally in my book, don't know the legal side of it perhaps some legal eagle can clarify? We may hear more on this, and even get a bit more pocket money out of it?![]()
If it was club PR it'd have gone via a journalist straight into print, and not via some random on a forum who has no credibilityClub historian Duncan Holley has waded in...
