I think people generally are being far too optimistic about what money will be spent as a result of the new Premier League deal, I don't expect we'll spend £20m on anyone, never mind someone who hasn't yet proven themselves in the Premier League.
As I said, we spunked 10m on an unproven Hernandez - he'd done nothing other than second division Italy, but I am being very wishful, I'm a bit worried we'll be scraping around in the bargain basement.
We've only got one decent winger for each side at the moment, we've got Clucas and Maloney who could stand in, but neither are really wingers. A lot will depend on what formation we plan to play next season, but if it's 4-4-2 we definitely need wingers.
Yeah we definitely need better wide players. Elmo should be depth, not starting XI, and Clucas hasn't proven enough to be starting on the left.
I didn't realise discussing transfers was wrong. Especially when I acknowledged ibe is probably out of our price range. I don't actually have our chequebook.
Unproven? Abel is a full international for Uruguay, hardly one of the worlds worst international teams! Its similar to a team in Italy taking a punt on Rashford, hardly bad business

Hmmm true, it just seemed as though we had enough, but when you look at it, it really isn't. I think because we had few injuries there last season it didn't show. Even so I still wouldn't put it as a major problem at the moment, obviously if someone becomes available then that may change. Same at CB. For me cover at RB/LB preferably 1 player who could cover both, although the kids coming through might help. CM cover. Wingers cover & striker as the priority!
I'd also be pretty keen to have decent PL experienced back up. If Robertson got a 2-3 month injury I don't know how I'd feel depending on Tymon.
That's what I mean by the kids. I agree, this is an area we need experienced cover. Challenging the 2 FB's too!
We have the cups, and I'm happy to give them a few games at the end of the season after we secure survival, but I don't want to jeopardise survival by not adequately preparing for injuries.
The HDM don't reckon we're in for anyone yet, it's just on their rumours round-up page when they list any old ****e that we've been mentioned in, this one happens to come from HITC, which is a waste of webspace.
I'm not trying to be controversial, but just pointing out (obviously not very well!) that it's someone else's money that posters are spending & there is not an unlimited pot available. Some of the figures (£20m +) are, in my opinion, unrealistic for a club of our size and means.
