When poch left I was alarmed for the future, but have got over this much quicker. We have good people in charge and they can,t be held responsible for such a turn around from Koeman. I liked Koeman before he ratted us out and thought he was the right man for us, but he isn't the greatest manager in the world. Saints make people look good...Everton may fi d this out. However, I Shan,t lose sleep over it.
I thought I could laugh in the face of the rumours, speculation and crises until this one hit Thought the only issue was whether we had Ron for 1 year or more. I am recovering fast though and what doesn't kill us makes us stronger I hope Ron stays for another year but if he doesn't I know Les will get us the best deal and the best replacement. Won't be Howe though as his magic has only worked at Bomo and we are too big a step up. We need someone with European experience. Red wine is the only option with a good burger on the Barbie, just don't let it get too warm. (I'm too old to drink quantities of beer) We March On
I get the concerns on AVB but don't forget the league was stronger at the top (or weaker in the middle) when he was at Spurs and he was under political pressure to play the players Spurs had spent so much money on (and Baldini was responsible for those signings rather than AVB). In his first season Spurs finished with two points more than Pochettino did this season and yet they finished two places lower. I know a pretty well informed Spurs fan who says the following about him: So yes, I'd have some concerns about his ability to handle pressure and perhaps his man management (although it seems Koeman may also have had some issues with man management) but I don't think those would be such big issues at Southampton. He'd be under less pressure here, get less media attention and probably get more backing from the board and the fans.
100%. Announcement to come this evening, I believe. Ron's signed a three-year deal with them on a deal in the region of £7m per year with performances bonuses. There's an option for a fourth year if both parties are happy, supposedly.
So have I. One of the reasons why I'm slightly uncomfortable about my calm. I've never condemned anyone by hearsay. My hopes aren't even 0%. But even a murderer gets a trial and the proof isn't there yet. When I take the word of a sports journalist [sorry DTLW] and a supposed ITKer as gospel truth then I know I'm in trouble. I might as well vote Brexit.
And I'm not one bit sad or upset, bye Ron hope you soon see the grass won't be greener, we'll march on with out you!
