Good pianist. Obviously doesn't know owt about football club anthems though. I blame Emily, whoever she is!

This City's on Fire is the best one to use it even has a built in chant that would get the stadium going before kick off!

Most of the group Sade were from Hull I think as well, just not the singer. Not sure which of their songs would be useful. In the 80s there were a few of these laid back or jazzy kind of kinds in Hull, Everything But The Girl, The Housemartins etc.

But no thread on Hull City songs would be complete without this ubiquitous duo

They played Eye of the Tiger pre-match after Mr. Jordan had said piece and roared down his mike .

Bam, bam, bam we love to boogie. ( sung while bouncing/pogoing/clapping)
Bam, bam, bam, the City lads boogie.
Bam, bam ,bam we love to boogie.
Bam, bam, bam, the City lads boogie.
Bam, bam, bam, we love to boogie on a Saturday night.

As in,
We love to boogie, we love to boogie
Jitterbug boogie, Bolan pretty boogie
We love to boogie on a Saturday night.

Marc Bolan and T Rex. 1976.

Sade's bassist was at Wembley on Saturday.

What about Kingston town?

Can't remember his name but he was in a band that regularly played the Welly and other venues late 70 ' s . Was always a big City fan and I think he used to go away back then too. Stuart Mathewman played Sax in Sade and had been in local band The acrylix with Roland Gift .

Can we ask a local band to re-record Tubthuning (I get knocked down) but slightly change the words to:-

"Tubthumping"

We'll be singing
When we're winning
We'll be singing

We get sent down
But we come up again
You're never gonna keep us down
We get sent down
But we come up again
You're never gonna keep us down

Pissing the night away
Pissing the night away

He drinks a whiskey drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him of the better times

Oh, Danny Boy
Danny Boy
Danny Boy

ect

Paul Denman is the bass player, he still regularly goes to City with his cousin.

The local band Stu played sax in was The Odds, before moving to London to join Pride, who because Sade.

The drummer Cookie was also from Hull.

Ah yes, the Odds. Remember them supporting the Damned at some college on Cott rd. He looked ill at ease in a punk milieu with his curly hair and mainstream glasses.
