The rumour mill says Fulham's Moussa Dembele is having a medical at Spurs.

Isn't there a Premier League rule about the number of Moussa Dembeles at one club?

To be fair we've not got a bad record with Man utd rejects hopefully NP goes down the same road as Brady and Chester, fingers crossed if he and Abel hit it off, then everyone's a winner.
Didn't they go down the road leading out of Hull? :)

He's a big unit to to play off the front.

May be a compromise as we can't get a out and out striker, or a back up plan If one of our attacking midfielders goes...

Who knows. I can't see him being bought as an outright forward, more as the second man sitting behind the forwards we have.
Joe Dudgeon, Cameron Stewart...

Dudgeon didn't make it due to serious

Not before we made a bob or two out off them.<cheers>

In all honesty, I'll be happy to keep the squad as it is. If we buy, we need to buy premier league quality (to be worthwhile next season) and getting that sort of player to come to the championship is a big ask. Hopefully no one is coming in for our current players. I also have faith (blind) that if Hernandez gets injured then Diamonde and Akpom can step up. Put a recall clause in any loan for Luer and I believe we'll be fine.

I just need a striker good enough to replace Abel and get us promoted,; Blind Faith are a band, not the future ...

... unless

He left school at the age of sixteen, without a single qualification to his name, and not having the slightest conception of the workings of the real world. He had little or no grasp of the mysteries of mathematics, the complexities of economics, or the achievements of history. As for science, even the most mentally impoverished troglodyte's knowledge of biology, chemistry and physics would easily have surpassed what he understood. All he had to fall back on was his verbose and rather patronising manner of speaking, a misguided and embarrassingly outdated understanding of football, and a blind faith in things all somehow working out for the best.

And that's how he became a White ****e Supporter. :emoticon-0139-bow:

Wednesday are very close to signing McGeady from Everton on loan until the end of the season. Good signing for Wednesday if they get it completed.

Bringing any player does not mean there has to be someone leaving. It just gives us more strength in depth and that we can keep players fresh for the run in. We would all love our starting 11 to be fixed and injury free and go through the rest of the season unbeaten but players are human after all and will have the odd dip in form and tiredness takes its toll. The option to rotate players and still put out a team capable of beating anyone in our division is what we need so personally I'd like to see the new keeper and a defender and midfielder and striker come in before Monday night.
So far we have a keeper lined up and Josh tymon to cover Robbo. Haydon can cover the centre backs if ever needed and Elmo covers right back as well as Taylor would. We have loads of midfield options and I'd love Harry to have a go in centre midfield if daws and Davies are at the back. Upfront I'd still like to see an out and out striker but Powell seems to have the ability to be a suitable back up option. I'd like someone who has a point to prove like Kemar Roofe at Oxford who will want to show he can play at an higher level rather than some premier league player who drops down just to get a game.

Spot on Filey.

You've totally confused me, now. You emphasise the above point, but said this earlier on this thread.

Bamford had a good season at Middlesbrough, what's to say he'll repeat that? Campbell hasn't gone on to achieve much since that one decent season. We got Anne Diamond and Akpom with no experience, why should we add a third? Academic anyway as I think he'll hopefully sign for Norwich

You won't entertain proven goalscorers in this league but will take a punt on an unknown, but only if they have more experience than Diamonde and Akpom - how are you going to manage that?

It's really not difficult to understand, so for your benefit I will explain.

I like a squad to have a good blend of youth and experience. We have this experience blend in abundance in all areas of the pitch, except the forward line - which I would still consider as greatly inexperienced. Inexperience can be not having played that many league games, or not many games in that country, it can also be age related or simply adapting to a country (Hernandez has taken over a year to adapt to a different language/culture/climate) dropping down a division has probably helped him greatly.

Roofe as a midfielder - no problem. We have bags of experienced players in midfield with a huge amount of league games under their belt. So, adding him would be straight forward as you are simply adding to that pool of ages. Age dynamics tend to work better when there's a spectrum (age and experience) in the way that Campbell and Windass gelled for example.

The Madden suggestion is because he's a player with a point to prove, he's not far off the leading scorer in league one despite being played as a winger - I'd say that's pretty impressive. He's also supposed to be quick and direct. This was suggested only as an addition to an experienced striker. He's also played 139 league games.

I think any club needs 4 strikers as a minimum to cover form and injuries, at the moment we've only got Hernandez, Akpom and Diomande as strikers. Aluko/Diame are simply not strikers. Diomande is out injured, it could well take him a year to find his feet in England. So we have 2 strikers currently fit, Hernandez who is having his breakthrough season in English football and Akpom who is trying to have a breakthrough season. We've also got the inexperienced Diomande, who may feature before the season finishes, he is very inexperienced in this league.

So in order to develop our current forwards, throw on in tight games to close them out, I'd still much rather have a seasoned centre forward - to help Diomande, Akpom and Hernandez (Offer something on and off the pitch) We are very naive at times up front, Bamford just isn't going to offer that to our current line up, he's still a kid himself. He's played a few games, scored a few goals - we need more than that at this moment in time in my opinion.

It's a shame there isn't a Windass kicking around from our first promotion to the PL. He'd be spot on.
