He has a proven reputation, but those things usually end up getting proven wrong at some point. Pulis has never been relegated from the Premier League, but that will change at some point. While sacking a manager is often a lottery, you have to weigh up whether the risk is worth the reward. At Christmas, if we aren't heading in the right direction, then absolutely we should be making a change, but only to a manager with a good reputation. Somebody like Dean Smith or JFH would have been a risk for us, we need somebody with a solid reputation that's going to motivate and get the best out of our players.
Agreed. I don't think anyone is saying Hayden is the solution, or Luer will perform up forward, but the predictability about the nature of our line up under Bruce is what causes a lot to lose optimism and faith in Bruce. He never seems to roll the dice in a positive way.
Both Hayden and Luer had done enough to have been given an opportunity against Leeds. What does it take?
The most ironic thing, is that Hayden was the one player Bruce singled out for praise after the Man City game. A game in which, despite the result, we played far better than we did against Derby or Leeds.
We played okay at best against Man City, that said we carried zero threat on Man City's goal throughout until we had no choice but to chase the game towards the end
Well now what a shock NOT that you would open up / post yet another tiresome thread on a subject that only the very very deluded few including wums would even consider. This thread did put a smile on my face as driving home after the game I did think you would be doing so. You must be related to that Mike bloke who rang RH after the game. We did laugh at what Mike said.
What will it take for you to start thinking something is wrong, when clearly it is? You're the one who is deluded
If I was Hayden and Akpom and saw Huddlestone and Aluko performances and still didn't get picked, id be asking Bruce why or asking to leave the club.
Akpom has no right to, his performance against Man City showed far less spirit than Aluko's against Leeds.
That could be confidence. There are certain players Bruce gives 2 chances and certain players he'll play all season long. If Hayden played like Huddlestone he wouldn't play again for Hull
Akpom's played in 23 games so far this season and 14 of them were starts, he can hardly claim he hasn't had a look in.
