Love both of them! And fish pie! My daughter makes a lovely fish pie! Salmon, smoked haddock, cod, king prawns and calamari!!! Herby sauce (no idea which ones mind)
Eating a packet of pork scratchings is like a game of Russian roulette for me. I will happily eat a bag unless I come across one with a tuft of hair still attached to it (a piece that looks like a cooked hairy big toe.) The thought of that one slipping by my normally stringent quality control and tickling my tonsils as it negotiates its way down my throat makes me instantly gag, at which point I have to throw the rest of the bag away. I would buy a packet cos for some reason I really fancy some, then after about half a dozen I normally turn my nose at them and wonder 'why the **** did I get these for.' I keep doing it....I never learn my lesson.
Loads of pies in Germany mate, all kinds of varieties. Horse & vegetable pie is divine. There's loads of little bakers shops in kraut land.
Rotten mate, as you say, nothing you eat should have hairs on it, unless you're in the bedroom munching on some fur burger but that's preference, I prefer mine smooth. Pork Scratchings... they're already disgusting before they come up with that name. Scratchings.
I used to eat scampi fries when I was younger but I don't think I could face them now. Then you've got Cheesy Moments, which looked foul, didn't even bother. Bacon Fries on the other hand.......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!! You can still buy all three, often still seen in pubs.
I had a mate in the forces, who lived up in Newcastle, we went to his for the weekend and we went to some social club. He ordered Scampi fries and a jar of cockles... dirty ****ing pig.
Horse and veg? ****ing hell they.ll be thinking newcastle is a safe haven for them. At least they only get punched. Not minced up and thrown into a pie.
I had horse steak in Holland & it was beautiful. Horse pie in Germany was just about the finest I've ever had. They put peas & carrots in it & add red wine to the gravy - sublime mate.
