Sad to see Jelavic go to be honest, though clearly his heart wasn't here anymore. I am worried we'll panic buy as a result and simply waste money.
If Daws knew any better, he'd look at Sunderland and realise they're dropping and not want to be any part of that. Elmo has released a picture of him and his kid saying he's looking forward to spending the day with him - seems he's not interested in a move (for the moment).
Glad to see the back of him. He didn't want to be here, and he spends as much time in the first aid room as he does on the pitch
I liked Jela last season but his attitude going into this wasn't the best. It's the best for all parties that he'd moved on. All the best to him.
In fairness to Jela I think he wants to win and do well, remember him really going for it in pre season friendlies and doing his bit when he played this season. He wants to play at the highest level so fair enough, and I think he would be injured a lot in the championship (far to physical for him). be interesting who we can bring in for him, I dont think Vydra is the answer, cracking player but too much like chupa and aluko, I think we need someone with power and maybe some nastiness in them.
It is a bit mental, but then if he scores the goals that take them up it's nothing. I'd like a permanent striker if the deal was right; if we loan one in the loan window we only get him for a max of 93 days. However, a season long loan signed today wouldn't be too bad.
While I'm sure the Jelavic deal will be confirmed, that photo looks photoshopped to me. Well, around the legs anyway. Maybe they airbrushed the wheelchair out.
Depends if they get 15m for Austin or not I guess. If they do, then spending 7 on a winger, and 7 on a target man style striker (Crouch??) might be what they are looking at
Completely agree, I liked Jelavic and thought he did a very good job for us. But the way he's been behaving this season is nothing short of pathetic, his attitude to dropping down a division has showed complete arrogance and a lack of respect for his team mates, we're better for getting rid of him.
