Kid I knew at Eyemez, broke his neck in a collapsed scrum. Made him quadraplegic. He's dead now. Turned me off rugby.

Don't mind rough stuff but scrums are death traps and there is nothing you can do to protect yourself if one collapses on top of you.

When did you leave Eyemez?

Just over a year ago now, seems so much longer....

StrovlosTiger - I actually have to admit i have never heard of that story before, must have being before my time. I have to agree though Rugby was never my thing, more to do with me being awful at it than anything else!

Very, very long time ago matie!

His name, if I remember right, was Paul Moleson. Only Woolley Wooldridge (physics teacher) was anywhere near around in them days! We're talking mid 70's.

Funny about Wolfreton school, my niece and 3 nephew's went there!!

The niece is a newly qualified doctor, one of the nephews is an aircraft technician, while the other two nephews are both in the music business 1 is a producer and the other is in a band doing quite well apparently.

Me i'm from Hessle road originally spent most of my teens and adult life on Bransholme & now live in Hedon.

I make my living as an engineering consultant these days to the oil majors, installing oil fields all over the planet, although not BP just lately anyway especially GOM.

Its the parenting that counts in my opinion, a good work ethic within the family unit is invaluable to kids at the early stages of life.

My lads at Pock and he beat Eyemez in a tennis tournament last week.

Pock also now have several rugby sides better than Eyemez, though traditionally it's been the other way round.

Neither school like the kids to play football.

What house is he in? I was in Dolman all those years ago.

Even as a boarder back in the late 80's/early 90's I managed to make it back to the matches for around 3.25 on a Sat. Remember jumping over the gates on the south stand a few times before they got used to my late arrival. Pock to Boothferry in around 30-45mins was a decent effort in those days.

Is my old Housemaster Mr Solomon still there Lambo?

I'll check with him and let you know as soon as he gets out of bed.

Expect an answer sometime after midday!

I went to Millom Grammar.Husband went to Riley High School. Apart from Tigeroo who
was a year behind him did anyone else on here attend RHS?

I'm ex-Riley (before that Wold JHS and Paisley Primary). I remember we (Wold) used to beat all the teams at cricket and football, but that might have been because we had(I think) an English schoolboy at football and cricket in our team (Paul Mudd, finished his days at Scunthorpe I believe)

At Riley we had the legendary Benny Bielstein (2nd place in the final of the Krypton Factor) teaching us PE.

I went to RHS at the Boulevard, 1949 to 1956. I was in Trent House. We used to stand on the railway bridge on a lunch time and watch Freddie Trueman, Johnny Wardle et al playing on the old Circle ground. Jimmy Binks, Yorkshire wicket keeper went to RHS a year or two before me.

If we're talking about being at school with City players, I was in Conor Townsend's class and Danny East was in the year above me.

I remember that happening but am struggling to remember the name. Steve Pettinger is the name I keep coming up but not sure.
