    I was at Pocklington from 1947-57 and played on both the Rugby and Cricket teams. Don't ever remember losing to Hymers. We were never allowed to kick a "soccer" ball around though.

    I've just foolishly reread it knowing that it would really, really annoy me.



    It did; but interestingly it raised in my mind a Douglas Adam's quote from HG2G.

    And I'm sure the same quote popped into my mind the last time I read it.

    I'd have to go back in time to check it though.


    Anyway, this is the quote:

    The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy describes the Marketing Department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as: "A bunch of mindless jerks who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes."

    Curiously, an edition of the Encyclopedia Galactica which fell through a rift in the time-space continuum from 1000 years in the future describes the Marketing Department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as: "A bunch of mindless jerks who were the first against the wall when the revolution came."




    For the Marketing Department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation read Guests at Sam's 40th obvs.

    Loved my old school days especially at high school where my favourite subjects were sport and boys.

    School champion in the former and a pass in the latter.
