If we let doctors treat players when ever they feel like it, at any time during a football match, there would be chaos!

It's got to be down to the ref to decide when a player ought to be treated, and it's up to the manager to decide who, on his bench ought to do the treating. From one account I have seen, the Chelsea medical staff decided, off their own bat, to run on to the field to treat the player, without getting any sanction from the manager, and that meant that the player - Chelsea's striker - had to be removed from the field of play, leaving Chelsea with 9 men at a critical point in the match. Jose's rant was all to do with the tactical ineptitude of his staff, and the fact that they did not consult with him before making the decision to take to the field.

Again, I reiterate, people are blowing this entire episode out of proportion. Was Jose wrong to make such a public show of temper? Probably. Did anyone die? No. Is Jose a winner? All the way to his core.

Get over it, people. I'm sure the medical numpties who ran onto the pitch without checking with the manager, and making a potentially costly mistake for the entire team, have got over it.

The ref indicated for the medical staff to come on, so end of argument, you've just admitted that it is down to him, so I don't know why you keep going on and on and on.

(1): Doctors don't 'treat players when ever they feel like it'. When have you ever seen a doctor run onto the pitch because they just 'felt like it' ?

At Chelsea, last weekend.

(2): You then contradict that 'point' by noting that the ref decides when players should be treated. (not when the Dr 'felt like it')

There is no contradiction. The account I read stated that the ref didn't instruct a doctor to come onto the field. The Chelsea doctors made that decision for themselves.

(3): You then claim that it's up to the manager to decide who 'ought to do the treating' . Who else is going to do the treating ? One of the subs ? The kit man ?

Jose says that Chelsea have 12 doctors, and that it is he who decides who sits on the bench. Do you know differently, PISKIE?

(4): Whatever account you have seen, it makes **** all difference whether the manager sanctioned the medical staff to run onto the field. You've already said that it's up to the ref

Yes, agreed, that is what I said, PISKIE. It is up to the ref.

(5): You've made yourself look like an idiot yet again.

Oh, dear! Silly me! Never mind. I'm sure it will be all right, in the end.

You simply haven't got a clue have you HIAG ?

(1) The medical staff didn't run onto the pitch because they 'felt like it'. They did so because the ref gave them the instruction to.

(2) In your original post you said 'Chelsea medical staff decided, off their own bat, to run on to the field to treat the player, without getting any sanction from the manager.' You're now trying to claim that they didn't get any instruction from the ref. Where is the link to this 'account' that the ref didn't give them any instruction ?

(3) Eva Caniero has been on the bench at Chelsea since before Maureen even arrived, who else do you think is going to do the 'treating' ? The Kit man ?

(4) As mentioned, you initially said it was up to the manager, then you contradicted yourself in the same paragraph by saying it was up to the ref.

(5) Each time you post, you make an even bigger fool of yourself.

PISKIE, the report came from a journo who was a guest on TalkSport, earlier in the week. He was sticking up for Jose.

Clearly he and you are talking utter bollocks. <ok>

So have you made your mind up yet ? Is it the manager or the ref who decides when the medical staff should go on the pitch ?

@PISKIE

Nice photo. Doesn't really explain much though, does it?

Is the ref telling the doctor to come on, or asking the Chelsea bench what they want to do? If the latter, please remind me who is in charge of the Chelsea bench?

The ref is instructing the doctor to come on the pitch. He isn't asking Maureen what he fancies doing. Are you really that naive HIAG ?

Why the hell would the ref be asking the Chelsea bench what to do? This would be first that the ref asks a bench to do anything ;) jokes aside obviously the ref is asking the medical staff to come on, really you are getting desperate now <doh>

Maybe the ref is asking Maureen if he fancies a cup of tea ? It's just a coincidence that he's standing next to an injured (faking?) Eden Hazard.

That photo tells us absolutely nothing. The ref could be signaling to the 4th official or a linesman for confirmation on what happened. How do you know that he is signaling to Chelsea's doctor?

Are you worried I will query your professionalism with my abhorrent behaviour?! Poor HIAG, permanently digging!

You won't want to be embarrassed that much, for a long time, I suspect, Schteeve.
