Yes but the referee indicated for them to come on to look at the player, what has a manager got to do with anything ? This player is a patient until the doctor says they are not.
Or the patient says that he's not.

This <ok>

The referee directs the game and admits players and staff on and off of the pitch. If he decides that a player needs attention, then it's up to him to summon the medical staff.

Maureen's reasons for having his hissy fit, that he was worried about having 9 men for a counter attack is precisely why managers shouldn't make the call. Being more concerned about the outcome of the game, rather than the health of a player is the wrong priority.

Most of that interview is a load of hot air, the rest is just hypocrisy.

He says he wants to talk about football, but when the media wanted to talk about football after the match, he wanted to talk about the medical team.

The next time Maureen comes out with one of his piss poor excuses, blaming the kit man or whoever it is next, the interviewer should just say.

'I don't want to talk about it. We're here to talk about football'

I am the boss where I work, I take criticism from employees on board and try and better myself, you should try it when you grow up

The work-shy bastards are stealing from you. It's about time you woke up, smelt the coffee, and got to work on those bollockings. Do you need a supply of P45s? because I have a job-lot you can have cheaply.

But he's not a medical genius is he?

Only because he chooses not to be.

The Smug One could have been anything he wanted to be. It just so happens that he choose to be Mad Dog's bitch. You cannot blame him for that, can you?

I worked as a manager in the NHS for 16 years. A good manager has to motivate, educate, inspire, delegate, act as a role model, be diplomatic and learn to give and take criticism in a constructive way. But most of all to be able take responsibility for all of your decisions and actions..

Being in charge of "toilet maintenance" does not make you an expert in the "boss" game, PISKIE. A real boss knows what it's like to kick ass, and he gets on with it. No one likes kicking ass, but sometimes you have to do it for the good of everyone. There is nothing worse than a work-shy, theiving bunch of bastards. Ask Jager - he's been letting his crew get away with murder for donkeys years.

I agree with most of what you say PleaseNotPoll , but the medical staff shouldn't have to wait for permission from an unqualified football manager to attend a patient.

Someone has to be in charge, Jager. If those medical staff don't like the fact that, at a football club, the manager is generally the person in charge of team matters, then they should go and get another job.

People are really blowing this entire thing out of all proportion.

Is this **** STILL going on? Whatever the relationship between Mourinho and his medical staff. Whether we think that is the correct way of doing things, or not, it should never have been put in the public domain. Only one person is responsible for that - Jose Mourinho. Whatever **** comes down on him from there, this whole argument that's going on here, he brought on himself. If he wasn't happy with his staff's behaviour, all he had to do was have a word quietly and none of this would be happening.

He badly miscalculated in thinking that he could deflect attention from being outplayed by blaming others. If he'd just put his hands up and said 'bad day at the office',.....

Let's see what he has to say after Sunday's game!

It's natural that there will be a difference of opinion between them. Jose is a winner, PISKIE, Le Prof isn't.

Yes someone is in charge, but generally on medical matters you leave it to the professionals, for example in the NHS would you allow a manager of admin over rule a consultant surgeon on the way they treat a patient?

Would you be happy as a patient that a manager with no medical knowledge is telling a consultant how to treat you?

This is not about team matters at all, basically it has nothing to do with Maureen on how a doctor treats a patient, he should shut the **** up and let people who are vastly more intelligent than him to do their job! Once they have finished what they do to the patient Maureen can have his player back!

If we let doctors treat players when ever they feel like it, at any time during a football match, there would be chaos!

It's got to be down to the ref to decide when a player ought to be treated, and it's up to the manager to decide who, on his bench ought to do the treating. From one account I have seen, the Chelsea medical staff decided, off their own bat, to run on to the field to treat the player, without getting any sanction from the manager, and that meant that the player - Chelsea's striker - had to be removed from the field of play, leaving Chelsea with 9 men at a critical point in the match. Jose's rant was all to do with the tactical ineptitude of his staff, and the fact that they did not consult with him before making the decision to take to the field.

Again, I reiterate, people are blowing this entire episode out of proportion. Was Jose wrong to make such a public show of temper? Probably. Did anyone die? No. Is Jose a winner? All the way to his core.

Get over it, people. I'm sure the medical numpties who ran onto the pitch without checking with the manager, and making a potentially costly mistake for the entire team, have got over it.

Wow, what a muddled post.

(1): Doctors don't 'treat players when ever they feel like it'. When have you ever seen a doctor run onto the pitch because they just 'felt like it' ?
(2): You then contradict that 'point' by noting that the ref decides when players should be treated. (not when the Dr 'felt like it')
(3): You then claim that it's up to the manager to decide who 'ought to do the treating' . Who else is going to do the treating ? One of the subs ? The kit man ?
(4): Whatever account you have seen, it makes **** all difference whether the manager sanctioned the medical staff to run onto the field. You've already said that it's up to the ref.
(5): You've made yourself look like an idiot yet again.
