    Couldn't it be the £15m?

It's how we got them to sign in the first place. A virtual guarantee that they'd be able to leave if we got relegated.

I think two is probable. What is more important is who (or what) we bring in - we need, desperately, an hungry, focussed striker and a strong, workaholic creative midfielder. Everything else is window dressing.

Don't we need a goalkeeper in case one is injured or is it an emergency loan?

I think, to a point, you are right; perhaps, you never know, it might be a consequence of our owners imposing their idea of business upon the football industry. Maybe, just maybe, when it comes to football club management they are a pair of clueless buffoons. Then again they may be trail-blazers, Steve Bruce might be anorexic and I might have a secret straw man factory. Say what you see.

Going forward I'd rather tell players to **** off if they want these clauses included. It's mostly the players fault if the club is relegated anyway - they have massively under performed. You very rarely hear about these clauses - but it seems every ****er at our club has one. If they don't want relegation they should perhaps look at performing better instead of easy way out contractual clauses.

Yeah, it's a good point, but I agree with the sentiments of Steve Bruce. I am not as dismissive of Jak as most, as I think you get what you pay for. To put it in context I would point out that Jak, as No.2, doesn't have too much to do, regarding confidence, to keep close to our No.1. If needed an emergency loan will cut it for a goal keeper, but we need a striker and a creative MF now, yesterday, weeks ago.

It's probably something that City needed to do to get quality players to come to Hull as opposed to playing in London. Whilst in retrospect we may not have got it right last season I don't think many fans were unhappy at the quality of players the club persuaded to join last summer.

Doubtful - earlier in the window they were talking higher figures than £15m for Charlie Austin. So at least QPR are still in control of if and when a player is sold.

Which I suspect is the role Maloney will fill, if we sign him.

    Premier league
    FA Cup final.

Almost stayed up but for a late run by another team.

I'm happy, and in complete disagreement with you and many others on here who cast aspersions at the management of transfers.

It would be a dull world if we all walked around wearing the same shoes.

Austin signed for them in the C'ship, so perhaps didn't need assurances in his contract that he was guaranteed to be able to leave upon relegation.
