Don't think we have been naive - just wary after the financial mess we were in after our last PL relegation
They'd be naive if they didn't - like we were last time we got relegated & were in financial meltdown.
DM article today says Charlie Austin has a wage reduction in place. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...rlie-Austin-absolute-steal-15m-stuck-QPR.html
Google "why is there a transfer window" the second article is an explanation of where it comes from and the purpose of it.
Thanks. I've now read that. I don't think the window is a good way to deal with the issues. They could insist on long contracts to get round the short term contract problem, for example. I just don't think that having all these panicky decisions in the last day of the window is sensible.
Bruce said today he's happy with just 2 keepers in the championship as you can loan one in an emergency
Is it just me or is Bruce constantly chirping on about our players with clauses in their contracts.. almost every interview now he's saying it.. If it was me, and I genuinely wanted to keep these players, why would you make it public knowledge that so many of our players can leave for a reasonable price because they have buy out clauses... you'd keep schtum Just strikes me as odd... unless of course its very obvious reverse psychology? and he's putting certain players in the shop window.
He would do well to just keep quiet and progress his business: if anyone can see a benefit in him speaking out then let me know what it is.
I just read that Austin is on £25k per week now and is wanting £45k per week. Alan Pardew thought that Connor Wickham for £8m represents better value than Austin for £15m. I don't agree.
