It's a good job they've got him, another of their defenders has just got a ten match ban.

Former Rangers star Kirk Broadfoot handed 10-game ban for verbally abusing Wigan's James McClean...

IF Chester is sold we should be asking for £15m at least. £12m for Brady. That will scare off the time wasters. £8m is a joke price for Chester.

SB should be looking at the fats and loan market. imo.

You can double that at least once N'Doye and UnAbel are gone. Maybe Jelly as well.

How times have changed, Middlesbrough can bid in excess of £10m for Rhodes after plucking a Premier League class player for £5m from West Ham, and we're talking about signing two injury prone cast offs on free transfers from the Premier League? TWT, but bouncing back to the Premier League is definitely not looking promising...

I agree with the sentiment. However, the Downing transfer has to be looked at in context. He's returning to his boyhood club and is ageing. No other club would have been able to sign him.

I know that, I was talking about what we had on deals already done, not deals that may or may not happen.

He wants out, we want him out (he's ****e) when can some ****er put some cold hard cash on the table. For a ****ing donkey he must have done something consistently to impress the teams in Serie A - maybe donkey and grass chewing are his strengths. Beats paying a grounds person I guess.

Is a "grounds person" someone who likes grounds? Would that be coffee grounds or stately home grounds?
Political Correctness gone mad. Get a grip FFS.

The Downing transfer is just like us and Barmby. He wouldn't have dropped down two leagues for any other club.

Olympiakos join race for Hull striker Abel Hernandez

The Uruguay international is said to be on his way out of the Tigers along with other players such as Dame N'Doye, Nikica Jelavic and Robbie Brady.

After Kostas Mitroglou's loan spell ended at the Greek champions the team are now looking for a talented and experienced striker.

According to Greek media, Olympiakos have approached Hull and started talks regarding the 24-year-old striker.

The Uruguayan has also attracted interest from Chievo Verona and Napoli after a torrid season with the Tigers.

According to Tuttomercato, Napoli have also made an approach and see him as the replacement of Duvan Zapata, who was loaned to Udinese.

Hernandez moved to the Premier League after enjoying five years in the Serie A with Palermo, where he played in 122 matches and scored 36 goals.

Steve Bruce signed him for a club-record fee of £10m but the striker struggled to reach top form as he only scored four times in 26 appearances.

It is said that Hull could let the player go for a lot less, such as £4.5m, as this will offload him from the club's salary bill.

According to Greek newspaper SportDay, Olympiakos have also shown interest for Hernandez's teammate Jelavic - however, it seems like only one striker can be bought.

We could do a buy one, get one free?

The line of clubs supposedly wanting to sign him must be half way round west park by now. I wouldn't be too surprised if we've still got him come end of August.

I'm guessing we will be reading about how it will be his dream to play for Olympiakos (as long as they're willing to put him back on the wages he was on with us last year.)

Probably, I remember when he was first interviewed about the possibility of coming here, his response was simply 'why not?'.

Why not indeed, as long as whichever club wants me is willing to/desperate enough to pay my extortionate wage demands.

Thank God for a season of relative reality check in the Championship.

And of course, allows him to nip abroad whenever he fancies a new hairstyle.

And gives him time to think about what squad number he wants before the club can sell any shirts with his name on.

    Such a prick.
