We definitely can afford it, I just don't think we want Austin. We must have had a few opportunities to sign him when we were in the lower leagues as he was playing at the same level so must have be on our radar, and we didn't make a move for him then so don't think we will now he is at his priciest.

I'm happy with out strike force. Pelle, Long, Jay, Mane, Juamni, plus Gallagher and Seager, more than enough quality and quantity wise.

I'd have to disagree, last season we were at times, really lacking up front and often seemed to run out of ideas. All the players you mentioned are ok premiership players, but if we want to kick-on, or even maintain our last season position I think we need real quality up front.
If Jay comes straight back in the sort of form before his injury I'd be delighted and if Juamni proves to be a quality signing, now thats a different story?

Who was the last player we signed cold from the Premier League who was in any kind of demand? Austin will be grossly, grossly overpriced. We don't tend to fall for that.

I once found a dead mole. Those little buggers have absolutely massive hands/paws. If they were the size of people, their hands would be like car doors.

Would make useful goalkeepers. Except that they're blind, of course.

Good new permanent second choice ahead of Gazzaniga then.

Any idea what their distribution is like?

Do it whilst they are injured s

This is everything that's wrong with the home grown quota. It works on some levels but in terms of British clubs overpaying for either British mediocrity or potential and then not providing first team opportunity it really is crippling.

He'll be straight into the England line-up, though.

Seen Newcastle are being linked to Chancel Mbemba for £10m. If there is any truth in that then Les should be on the first plane over to Belgium now to get him in as Toby's replacement.

"All the players" - then you say that Jay and Juanmi might not be in that list? So you mean Pelle, Long, Mane, Seager, Gallagher. I'd say Pelle is decent, Long is okay. Mane is at least a level above both, so let's elevate him out of that group. Seager/Gallagher - well they might be "okay" or they might be more than that, but the only way we'll know is to play then. Gallagher could be this year's Kane. Who knows? I think you're dismissing our strike force way, way too early:

Good-looking prospect if he's 20, as currently advertised. Much less so if he's about to turn 25, as he believes, or even older, as he was once registered.

A blog stating that the Express has announced the signing of Vlaar. No need for us to wait for Les if the Express has announced it<doh> I know some have been calling for the signing of Vlaar, but Lazio apparently uninterested because of physical problems. That's worrying.
Not excited by the prospect of Vlaar signing for us. Okay - he's a free agent so no transfer fee but for a player with his lack of pace and injury prone - would not be a move in the right direction for us. Hopefully the Express has made this one up, like so may others...
