It would appear that Bruce wanted him and that he was undecided over tactics, so that element of any argument for selling him is weak; the argument for keeping him seems to be strengthened by the comments of the man who choses tactics. £5-6m is a piss in the bucket of the target prize, promotion to to PL; even more so if you rationalize the options for Ince, now and in the future. I have no interest in what he offers for the PL, I have every interest in his 11 from 18 in the league we will be competing in - it seems that goals are a luxury we don't need.

What about trying to entice Lambert from Liverpool, hopefully alongside an up and coming youngster similar to what we did with Deano and Campbell. If reports are to believed then maybe Wilson from ManUre on loan for a season.
I've no interest in arguing over Ince, I think he's a very good Championship player, who's also a poor individual to have in the dressing room, so I'm largely indifferent to him leaving.

You are probably right, i was only going on what the reports say, but a young and hungry striker is what i was meaning in reality, Wilson was just one who was being spoke about. Not sure who else there is who would fit the criteria. Maybe we even have one in-house ready to stake his claim.

Try looking at his performances with Derby in the Championship, you know, the 18 form games that are relevant to what we are looking for (you might notice he scored 11 goals in that extended form period). I never saw him play for Derby, no interest in watching him or them. I know since he signed for them their form dipped and they went from certain promotion to missing out on the playoffs. 11 goals scored but how many did they conceed with him in the side? From what I saw when he played for us, he is lightweight and easily knocked off the ball. He will pull out of any 50/50 challenge and gave minimal effort when we didn't have the ball. I'm not suggesting their slip in form was all his fault but he has to be a contributing factor. It makes perfect sense to cash in on a player who didn't want to play for us. A player who has never played well for us. How can we miss something we never had? It seems to me you are using his departure as another stick to beat our club and owners with. Something that you do at every opportunity.

What are you basing his assumption that he's a poor character to have about on?
The only evidence I can point to is what McLaren has said about him, who had nothing but the highest praise for his commitment, attitude and character both on and off the pitch.
Okay, you haven't and can't be bothered to watch anything about the games that are relevant to the league We are in, but you are comfortable condemning him on his performances in those games.
His time with us in the PL was poorly managed and a really poor example of what he has to offer. I would agree that he was easily knocked off the ball, I recall commenting on it myself, but it was not used as he should have been. He was also in a more demanding league, one we are not discussing him playing in.
But let's get back to Derby and what I think is bollocks about your comment. Even though you throw in a pointless disclaimer, you have clearly associated, in all of your posts, Derby's fall from grace with the impact of Ince' s arrival and that is simply bollocks. He was brought in to bolster the attack and guess what, he did exactly that, 11 from 18 - as you have been too lazy to look for any other cause of their problems, won't those stats suffice to justify his inclusion as a positive? I wonder how you and his other detractors would have viewed Ben Arfa if he had ambled around but found 11 from 18 for us. Paul Clement could be bothered to do his own assessment:
He's a young player who needs managing (as McClaren did) and playing in a team that suits his style of play; that doesn't mean building a team around him, it means building a team from the squad. You would seriously hope that squad would have options of positions and shape, as it is a tad daft to be as predictable as we were in the PL.
Just for clarity, are you really saying you think that an attacking midfielder would be responsible for leaking the goals to cause such a drastic decline in form?
All I've seen is a random post on here with nowt to support it or give it any form of context. I would imagine emotions were running both very high and very low in that defeated dressing room that knew it was losing it's manager. If Ince says it as he sees it then he will be in some very good, very successful company from all team sports. We should have a sign put above our dressing room door, 'Comfort Zone' - we need a bit of pep in the mix, Derby seem to be happy to have theirs back.
I'm suggesting that you defend as a team and that if someone in the side isn't working had enough without the ball you will conceed more goals. Are you of the opinion that attacking players don't have to work hard so long as they score. I love your use of Paul Clements quotes as proof that he's a great player. Of course he's going to say good things about his new signing. I suppose he was poorly managed at palace too? Brady has been played in many positions and done well. Has he been poorly managed? How was he not used as he should have been? We played him wide and upfront, where should he have played? Great championship players should be able to perform at a reasonable standard in the prem. Brady did, Quinn did, Aluko did, I agree they didn't play well every game but they at least had some good games for us. Ince did not. He has a reputation of being a talented player. He showed us none of it. For that reason I don't care he has been sold. If he does well at Derby he will cause unrest and engineer a move to a bigger club, if he doesn't it will be someone else's fault because he could play for inter Milan you know! I'm glad you brought up Ben Arfa because that's exactly how I see him. A lazy waste of space only caring for himself.
