If it happens. Hudds can move back to his Nottingham roots and we can get our wonga back. His fan club will be happy if it happens though.
You should know about what it takes. You have always been one. Yes he is but he wont invest any more of his money into Villa. Hence why he trying to sell the club and fast.
Got to say Huddleston moving on would give us a chance to invest in pace and mobility for our midfield, clubs in the Premier League have worked him out, pressurise him and his thought processes go to the dogs, being that the Championship is a much faster more physical league I personally think Tom would struggle, then there is ensuring his head is in the right place. Money back or better think he`d be better off moving on for both parties.
Think it would indeed be a good move for all parties, but he'll do well there I bet. Sherwoods a great manager for getting the best out of underperforming, talented players. Made Lambert look such a twat this season.
Agreed, I`m sure he will do well for them, but it did seem last season that most clubs had worked him (or us) out, pressure him and give him no time on the ball, leading to a lot of misplaced possession from the big man
Not just that they sussed our only supply to the forwards came from Elmo, so if you push him back not only carnt he defend he'll have to cross from deep. Our attackers are crap in the air and with back to goal so the centre backs won the ball then gave it to their midfield and progressed from there as our midfield was 35 yards away from them
People make too much of this 'sussing out' business. Yes teams know we're gonna play 3-5-2 and we'll know what to expect from them too. The hard part is doing anything about it. Problem for is is we've been too easily stopped too often. Huddlestone in particular. Whether that's down to him or Bruce/the team as whole, we might find out if and when he leaves.
Unfortunately while I part agree with what your saying, Tom didn`t have the speed of thought or vision to get himself out of tight situations, true given time on the ball he is on his day one of the best passers of a football in the English game, but alas teams have seen the way he gets caught in possession when harried, I hope that he does regain the composure that we saw in his first season and goes on to prove me wrong, but unless Sherwood plays him in a `quarterback` type position and tries to protect against him being closed down so quick then I am suspecting that this will emerge again, but quite rightly time will tell
Agree with that. Anyway many times we changed it pushing Chester to RB and Elmo further up. Tom is not going to fulfill his undoubted potential, which is why he came to us in the first place. When we needed him to grit his teeth and dig in and lead the team he was found wanting.
If we were smart about it, we'd have put in a buy back clause. Unless he's signed a new contract since then. It's strange he's never been called up to the Scotland squad, didn't his Dad/Grandfather say they were well chuffed he'd chosen to represent them?
So how much do we think Chester will be sold for? The amount in the online papers and articles seems to be around 4 mill.
We should hold out for double that. If other clubs want our players lets make them pay top price - so what if he's in the last year of his contract? Lets use that year to get back up then see who wants to stay or go.
Sorry but that's bollocks. For a start, Tom has been in the premier league for about a decade, every club knows all about him, they haven't suddenly just 'sussed him out' after about 10 years. Second, they would have sussed our only supply to the forwards came from Elmo after about 45 minutes at Stamford Bridge in August 2013, it didn't take them a year to spot that. Third, our forwards are anything but **** in the air. Jelavic could genuinely challenge any centre half for a head and N'Doye wasn't much worse. There were many problems with the team last season but being sussed out certainly wasn't the issue. If being sussed out was the problem, every team would have to buy a whole new set of players to field every other game before they became ineffective due to being sussed out.
D sorry that's bollocks I never once mentioned tom in my post but now you've mentioned it yes they have Sussed him, put pressure on him he'll give the ball away and hasnt got the legs to chase you for it back
