I've been told off for leaning on my seat numerous times.

Always ignore them like. What exactly is wrong with me leaning on the seat I am designated by my season ticket, essentially making it my seat?

When you say leaning on your seat what exactly does that mean? Are people told off for leaning when seated? The ****wittednessof our stewards never fails to amaze. In the meantime of course away fans do as they wish, ground regulations (a national thing not just our stadium) prohibiting away fans in home areas ignored whilst enforcing every other petty one.

There was a piece on it this morning on the BBC breakfast, and the pro- safe standing spokesman for me made a good point. As it is at the moment a lot of fans do stand in the seated area, which is far more potentially hazardous compared to having these safe standing seats and rails.

    Our stewards are jobsworths mate.

I got done for similar last night.

Another kid got a can of coke confiscated off him in a match early on in the season.

Yet they didn't do anything about the flare in the away end last night, people wearing half and half scarves, or the meff in the east stand wearing a Liverpool jacket despite Liverpool not even playing.

I saw one or two Scum army types getting led out after that potential holocaust incident.

As nowt had happened for a few minutes before then, I reckon they'd been spotted on cctv and apprehended.

    LFC jacket where?

Hanging round the top of the stairs as you make your way in from the North East Turnstiles. E1, E2.

There's a Liverpool fan who sits just behind me, but he has been going since League Two and always wears City garb, never Liverpool, even when we've played them.

    A rarity.

E3 about three rows down south of entrance 15. Looked like some bloke that'd found it on the waste ground where he slept, so probably a genuine scouser.

They'll do what their members want, so far City, Villa, Swansea and Arsenal have all said they're in favour, I'm not sure about any others.

If the majority of their teams are in favour of it, they'll probably be for it.

IIRC, in the case of the PL, a simple majority is not enough. Think it has to be over two thirds, which is 14 clubs.

I saw that news report too. Bristol City are installing it, they groundshare with a rugby team. The rugby doesn't have the same all seating restrictions the football does, so will be terracing for them, but seating for the football.

With all due respect, advances in technology, learning from the past, having some trust in humanity.. mean that there is such a thing.

I think whilst the Hillsborough Family Support Group won't have a say, I think the fact that they are against it, along with the case being very current and highly emotive, it will perhaps have some bearing on any decision.

Despite the fact that modern stadia don't have the perimeter fencing between fans and the pitch, which was one of the main issues with Hillsborough.

Of course safe standing is dangerous....

...how many incidents have happened at Dortmund again?

If the Hillsborough group, all respect to them, have more say than architects and safety experts, it will be a disgrace.

I have all respect for the Hillsborough group for the work they've done in clearing their families' names and those of other fans, and finally exposing the real truth about what happened. But this is a separate matter and their opposition to safe standing appals me. It's the same kind of nonsense generalisation and mistruth they've fought so hard against that they are now using themselves.

Celtic secure green light for rail seating

CELTIC Football Club is delighted today (9/6/15) to announce that it has been granted permission to introduce “safe standing” through the installation of a rail seating system at Celtic Park.

Celtic has been at the forefront of attempts in the UK to introduce this measure, having been in dialogue with the relevant authorities for over five years.

It is proposed that the rail seating area will initially accommodate up to 2,600 supporters and after we consult with our supporters, could potentially be introduced for the start of season 2016/17.
