He's played for Birminghamj and Sunderland, but I think Bruce left both clubs before Gardner was there.
Hasn't he played all of his carrier in the PL, that could be a draw back may not want to take the step down, if there's any truth in the rumour.
Bruce signed him in 2011, apparently he fell out of favour with him and was linked with a move away in January. Wasn't until O'Neill came in that he started playing again. So the two might not be on best of terms

Nahki wells name is doing the rounds at the club but dont know how firm our interest is just yet will find out more next week
We turned down Andy Carroll for 300k and a free season long loan of Jack Wilshire as a 'bridge builder' after spitgate.
To get promoted we'll need a team capable of scoring North of 85 goals. Assuming we lose all of our current 'Strikers' and we continue with our shot shy midfield - we'll need significant investment to get the goals required to get out of this league. Otherwise we'll just be another team that spends seasons back in the Championship, not necessarily a bad thing. But given Allam probably wants to sell, a sustained period in the Championship is good for no one.
Gotta say what I seen of Sako and Dicko at Wolves, they would be a welcome addition, pace power and both know where the onion bag is, if Wolves are investing in the likes of Gayle, could well be worth a couple of cheeky bids
I would suspect that there`ll be a few Premier League Clubs interested tbh, just wishful thinking on my behalf
