Bruce has built a team around getting the most out of Elmo - it didn't work in the Premier League, but it certainly did in the Championship. As Bruce doesn't have a plan B, has built a team round Elmo and has let Rosey go, we'd be stupid to sell Elmo.
N'Doye was a quick fix that didn't work, good positioning but weak when challenged. We'll get decent money for him; Bruce did decent business. I would everything possible to keep Jelavic, I rate the guy above any striker we've had for decades. If you worry about the knees you'll spend your life worrying.
I think it has far less to do with recouping yesterdays money than rebuilding the team and cementing tomorrow's.
Facebook rumors which are really as reliable as Twitter rumors. Jelly is injured again (probably just started by someone trying to be an ass). We have had contact by multiple MLS clubs inquiring into purchasing Jelly. This one I would almost certainly believe has happened.
Hard to say he isn't a house old name, it's not really about skill when it comes to the salary for players from top leagues. I'd make the guess at anywhere from 40-100 k a week it's just a hard thing to say bc he is a million times better than Altidore but he doesn't have the name recognition.
Absolutely agree. I think Elmo has been a very steady performer but would really like to see us abandon 3-5-2 for a system with wide men who actually get crosses in from the bye line rather than from deeper. We do that very rarely. And until Elmo goes, I think Bruce will persevere with 3-5-2.
Someone on Twitter(not a City fan) claims we're about to sign Craig Gardner from West Brom. Seems unlikely, he's only one year into a three year deal and was first choice for them last season.
Unless someones going the other way. Take your pick. Please be Hernandez please be Hernandez please be Hernandez.... More chance of Jason Gardner.
It seems West Brom have just had a bid accepted for a central midfielder from Barca, so I suppose there could be something in it. My first thought was also that it would only happen if someone was going the other way.
