All these players that 'want' to leave puzzle me. They are likely to play at a club similar too ourselves and never likely to be in the running for any silverware. One season with us and we may get promotion and a trophy via the play offs or a title. Surely that's worth considering?
Its probably the 50% relegation clause in their contract. Im sure thats the main factor in people wanting to leave to bottom level PL clubs who will be in a relegation fight.
It's quite funny but you get the same players that just seem to move around the relegation clubs. You couldn't see Jela, N'Doye, Huddlestone going to top 10 clubs, they're relegation fodder really. The only way to break and become established is by spending a load of money on established PL players and a top quality goalscorer
He only cost us 2.2. 4m or more would be good, would soak up a bit of the loss we'll make on Hernandez, who I'd hope we could get 6-7m for.
I think you'll be lucky to get £5m for him. Even then we'll probably have to subsidise his contracted salary. Signing Hernandez was terrible business.
Under 25, regular in his national team, he's worth a fair bit. Even if he didn't take to the PL, he's still young enough for that word 'potential' to add a couple of million.
You need to score goals to warrant a decent fee. He simply hasn't done that. Here, or at his previous club. I can only see him going out on loan. We won't see anywhere near our £10m back on this player. We'll be very lucky with £5m.
He didn't play for a fashionable enough club to warrant being scrutinised. At £10m - he'd be in my top 10.
Obviously the more we get for any player the better, but I really don't think we're in a position to be rejecting offers for N'Doye. It's best for all concerned if he leaves and the earlier the better. Same with Hernandez. Then we'll have more idea of what we've got to spend and we'll have a while to sort decent Championship strikers.
I like the idea of Becchio - we were rumoured to be interested. He is (or was decent in the air). My two concerns would be is he still any good? He's not played much in the last 2 seasons and will we be keeping hold of the likes of Brady and Elmo for providing crosses?
N'Doye apparently has a release clause of £2.5m, according to the Sunday People. Not surprising really if we had to persuade him to take the reported drop in wages to join. So far, Villa, West Brom and Newcastle reported to be interested in Chester - it may be a surprise if he is still around come August.
Just think we'll get our money back and no more, the release clause was probably used to clinch the deal.
Mickaël LE BIHAN to replace Rosie? Scored a lot of goals for Le Harve but is position is right back/midfield. Scouted by Brighton apparently. We need some defenders to score goals this coming season if we can't sign any decent strikers
The more clubs interested in Chester the better, hopefully we can drive the price up if 3/4 clubs are interested in taking him. If we can get around 3m for N'Doye I would be more than happy, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone paid 5m for Hernandez in Italy.
Hernandez' situation will be interesting. I'd be happy to accept whatever we can get for him; clinging onto the hope of recouping most of our money on such a disaster of a transfer would be daft. If he's still on our books then he's taking up a space in wages and squad size which will stop us getting another striker in and we'll be forced to use him. So shifting him would be my priority. As you say though, there may be plenty of Italian sides who just need an absolute jessy to play up front for them and are willing to pay.
