It turns out that is also an effective method.

Thank goodness for the Yanks. Why haven't the UK/European authorities detected this corruption? Too many high profile people with their snouts in the trough?

Giving the World Cup to Qatar, the world's richest counry, really did point the finger at the greedy bxxxxxds.

They'll all probably launch investigations now.

Don't start upsetting the Russians. Russia's Deputy Prime Minister recently said 'Our tanks don't need Visas'. Parking is bad enough down my street without them coming over.

They can say that if they want, but I know for a FACT that if they don't have a permit down Perth Street West, they WILL get a ticket - tank or Lada, it don't matter.

This is amazing to watch, the gent who ran the panorama programme has just been on sky damming Sepp Blatter, said he is been investigated and he has evidence that will lead to his downfall (hopefully).

He also says he thinks both Russia and Qatar will not happen.

I think it's partly because a lot of the investigation by the Americans involves looking at contracts American companies made with FIFA.

At least Uefa has at last got some balls. I know it has been called off but these are refreshing words.

Meanwhile, here's the full Uefa statement calling for the Fifa election to be called off...

please log in to view this image
Today's events are a disaster for Fifa and tarnish the image of football as a whole. Uefa is deeply shocked and saddened by them. These events show, once again, that corruption is deeply rooted in Fifa's culture. There is a need for the whole of Fifa to be "rebooted" and for a real reform to be carried out. The upcoming Fifa Congress risks to turn into a farce and therefore the European associations will have to consider carefully if they should even attend this Congress and caution a system, which, if it is not stopped, will ultimately kill football.

The Uefa member associations are meeting tomorrow ahead of the Fifa Congress. At that point, the European associations will decide on what further steps need to be taken to protect the game of football. In the meantime, the members of the Uefa executive committee are convinced that there is a strong need for a change to the leadership of this Fifa and strongly believe that the Fifa Congress should be postponed, with new Fifa presidential elections to be organised within the next six months

You know the situation regarding FIFA is really bad when people are congratulating American intelligence agencies, of all things, for exposing corruption.

The US Attorney General has been working on a case against FIFA for years, according to this article http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/27/fifa-arrests-corruption-loretta-lynch-chuck-blazer It's an amazing story. The Europeans and South American football associations have turned a blind eye to FIFA for too long. The African nations were easily bought. Thankfully, the Americans, their association being one of the few not in thrall to Blatter, have finally blown the lid on one of the longest-running and most highly visible scams on record.

The Swiss also raided their Zurich headquarters, for information about the awarding of the Russia & Qatar World Cups. They did it in sync with the US raid at the hotel, and gathered lots of data.

    It could contain anything.

It's over for FIFA. This will run for years, and result in a colossal shake up of the game worldwide. A new body, of some sort, will be created to replace it. One that is transparent. I can't see this not being utterly seismic for football.

I sort of applaud EUFAs stance but I don't trust them anymore than I trust FIFA. They all have self serving agendas.

Yes, this is very convenient for them to position themselves as saintly in comparison.

Platini is a creep. I'm sure UEFA has its fair share of skeletons.
