Yes but 20 years overdue. By the time the dust has settled alot more will emerge and Blatter and co. will suffer whatever the election result this week.

FIFA needs to be more open to all once a new board is in place. David Gill is a great start.

I don't think it's a surprise to anyone and the $10m is just one transaction, they think they've traced over $150m in bungs already.

This still isn't as good of news as the new Conan movie staring Arnold and 3 of the original cast that was announced today.

Isn't this just what they've investigated in the U.S.? There'll be much more world wide.

Maybe not, most financial transactions involve US banking mechanisms even if it doesn't involve the U.S. directly. It matters how technical they were being with saying that $150 million went through U.S. banking institutions. But that $150 was only for the 2 world cups so there should be a lot more that comes out for other tournaments like mr hat said.

I hope these 7 aren't scapegoated to hide what others have done - Blatter can't be "squeaky clean".

Blatter still wriggling away at the moment, so far not accused of anything. How long will that last?

We can't allow him an opportunity to act like he was the one that cleaned it all up.

It's happened under his watch, he should take the biggest fall.

It's far more likely if they lose their appeal for extradition to be denied that when they get to US soil they will be offered immunity to charges to testify against Blatter and others. It's what normally happens when people are looking at decades in prison.

    Copied from BBC website -

Russia has accused the US of acting illegally in its indictment of Fifa officials.

It was "another case of illegal exterritorial use of US law", according to Russian Foreign Ministry, who urged Washington to "stop trying to set itself up as a judge far outside its borders".

Not a chance IMHO. Everyone knows Blatter is neck deep in it. The Americans won't stop till they nail him I'm sure.

Considering that's how we go after organized crime like the Mexican cartels or foreign terrorists there is no chance we change our behavior when it comes to charging foreign nationals.

You knew it. I knew it. The whole world knew it. That was just a statement from the US Attorney General. OK?

The Russians prefer to drop polonium in people's tea, outside of their borders.
