As I realise that looks a bit like a dig, I'm quite happy for that to be the situation. The club should be getting run like a sensible business, not getting propped up by ever increasing loans from the owners.*

*if anyone wants to trawl back because that sounds like it's contradicting what I've said in the past about wanting loans from the owners. When we were taken over I said I hoped they'd loaned us the money to cover the existing debts rather than giving us it. That way when they removed the deficit and started building us up we could one day use the increased revenue to start paying them back the money, and eventually be in a position where the club had paid for everything it had achieved. There was nothing about me wanting them to increase the debt from the £50-60M we were already committed to up to around £90M in order to get promoted.

Don't pretend you are in anyway disappointed with these figures. In fact, you would love it if no one at all renewed.
But go ahead, carry on encouraging others not to support the club financially, and then complain like a woman when one of your faves has to be let go because there's not enough cash to keep him.
    ****er.

I'm sure someone of his wealth could borrow £10 million against assets and defer payments to himself for a year and give it a real go. Point is, would he want to? There is a very big prize for getting it right. I think the time has come to stop looking on the club as being skint. Players leaving will be about looking after their own interests in many cases. The club will pay all its bills and wages on time and any shortfall will go on the debt. The debt won't be reducing any time soon without a massive fire sale so why not ship out a few "star" players, get rid of the big time charlies and deadwood and start from there. If the debt has to increase, let it increase for good reason. Stay positive people.

Thanks for the memories Liam Rosenior, 100% for the shirt every time he took to the pitch.

    Keep The Faith.

I've just had the misfortune of reading the last 10+ pages since I last checked in (shocked to see fez derailing a thread looking for an argument, couldn't you have saved your feud with Dutch for a worse thread?)

I've not seen it mentioned anywhere that, given the immediate announcement (unofficially granted) of this news, it's something that's already been talked over, mulled over and agreed by both parties?

Personally, I expected Rosey to be a key part of our team next season, but as already said countless times, maybe the manager has other ideas, maybe Rosey wanted to be guaranteed game time (can't fault him), maybe the manager couldn't make that promise, maybe some of the players have agreed to stay, maybe lots have and the wage bill needs trimming wherever possible.

It definitely seems hasty to me, and I don't agree with releasing him, Elmo, Brady and Robbo are three of the players I expect to draw serious interest from the PL and likely acceptable bids. If that is to happen, we're left without a single qualified full back. I also thought Rosey would be the cheap option, not only because he's already here negating the need to pay a transfer fee, but given his equal comfort on either side of the pitch meaning he alone can cover what will probably take two others.

I've forgotten but aren't you only allowed 5 subs in the football league? If I'm remembering that right, versatile players like Rosey are exactly the kind of players you need in your team, specially over a gruelling 46 game season in a very physical league.

However at present, I concede it's just another reason for me to think Steve Bruce is a fat, useless, lying ****. But his decisions will be better judged in a few months time as come September, if the release of loved hero's like Rosey and McShane means we can afford to keep the real top quality like Chester, Huddlestone, Robertson, Diame etc. for a serious promotion push then we will all look back at this and think how much of a useless **** Brucey is.

The release of Rosenior - and all other changes that take place over the coming weeks - is the result of decisions made over the past month. The Allams will have insisted on a plan B being prepared in the event of relegation.

Good enough for what? I don't understand your relentless vendetta against Alex when so many other players have let the club down this season far more than him?

Exactly, chances are Bruce has had no say in Rosy leaving anyway, General Allam would have his contigency plan for relegation set in stone regardless of Bruces opinions

So you think Bruce is lying when he claims Allam lets him manage and doesn't interfere?

Maybe he is lying but if he doesn't kiss the bosses arse then he is out of job like most of the working population of the world. I still don't understand your love-in with Huddlestone, the Burnley game proved we need shot of him and his wages

Hull City won't be skint. We will not renew and sell enough players to stay within the budget set by Assem and Ehab Allam. The question isn't about money but the quality of the players we have left and the quality of the players we get in.

Steve Bruce may will have been told how much money is available. He may have had a choice about which out of contract players he wants to keep. A prudent business man waits to see what he has left towards the end before committing to new expenditure on wages. I would hope that those players who are not having their contracts renewed were told some time ago that it was a possibility if we went down. That would give them time to try and find alternative employment.

As to building a team for promotion. I think Bruce has failed to do that. Too many of our fighters are out of contract and of the rest they are the ones that will bring the best prices.

In the 2013-14 season Rosenior was arguably our best defender behind Davies. This past season Bruce barely plays him for one reason or another. Now he is cut. It makes me wonder if Bruce has any idea what he is doing now. Totally pissed that Rosey has been cut. What is Bruce's next move, sell Robertson to one of our opponents for half what we paid for him FFS

What I gather from this & your previous Allam "love in"posts is that you agree with the Allams in thinking that the fans views are irrelevant but you, strangely, also think the fans' money is very relevant. Weird.

I think Brucie has already proved that he doesn't buy quality when he does have the money - **** knows what he will buy when he doesn't - I understand Prozzy is **** at Coventry so he may be available on a free

Not one single person will decide to renew, or not renew, their season ticket based on anything I post on a message board. <doh>

Prozzy released by Brentford yesterday, reckon that was an easy decison

On the subject of season passes, c9.5k to date is a sign the final number will be significantly lower than last
