Really just improvement by others. 10-3-6 in 2014, 6-2-4 in 2015. Beat us at home and their ppg in 2015 is higher than 2014.

6-2-4 doesn't seem like free fall to me

Not sure why all of you are writing off Saturday already, we can't score in a brothel at the moment so if you can grab an early goal or keep it 0-0 till the hour mark, I certainly won't be confident in breaking you down.

Fair enough, that is a shocker of an away run, part of the reason you are where you are I suppose, though alot of those I would of expected you to lose anyway.

Was the performance that bad against Swansea then? I suppose confidence must be massively low at the moment. I was just saying that Saturdays match is by no means a foregone conclusion, paticuarly where we can't score for **** currently, we're not the same team as pre-December by any stretch of the imagination.

I think you lot should be okay, though it might come down to Burnley game on the last day, like Bruce so all the best after Saturday <ok>

Btw, how's Gaston getting on? Random touches of class? Incosistent? Constantly injured ? I remember how excited I was about signing him <laugh>

Yes, he's exactly what you say about him. Bit lightweight at this level imo.

If you're in bad form, it sounds like it'll be a riveting match.

We thought the team would've been on a high after the way we performed against Chelsea, but we came out poorly & made a mountain for ourselves by conceding twice in the first half. Been typical for us this season- really indifferent performances.

Just hope we don't need to go 2-0 down to kick into gear.

I know the likes of Pelle & long etc aren't scoring but they'll be a handful. And if City aren't up for it from the off it could be a long afternoon.

Ramirez has been indifferent (like our season). You sum him up well. You want him back?

Shane Long is blatently going to score at the weekend. Him and Clyne will have a ball if we play with wing backs.

ESPN seem to think we'll finish 15th, although I don't know how they have us to draw with Liverpool and Burnley and beat Spurs. In fact, they have us to finish on 35 points, despite us only picking up five more points. Which by my count gives us 33 points and not 35 and would therefore see us relegated. <laugh>

It's not just Swansea. We've just been so **** all season. You can take comfort in our performance at home to Chelsea but we lost. We'll probably battle well against Liverpool and Man U too but we'll still lose. Away at Southampton, Palace, etc. What's to suggest those games will be any different to Stoke, West Brom, West Ham, etc were?

Agreed, there haven't been any comfortable performances this season like there was against Liverpool, Fulham and Cardiff last season. And it's essentially the same team. Which leads me to believe that our tactics are totally wrong, teams just work us out so easily and then just punish us. We don't set up for the occasion, we set up based on which players had a good game last time out and it's cost us big time.

Not sure we'll been **** ALL season, we've been inconsistent, played well in some half's played poorly in others, have rarely put two good half's of football together. Errors and late goals been killing us and injuries to key players haven't helped. Still think we'll stay up... just.

Off the top of me scalp

Stoke (h) winning conceded late =draw..
West Ham (h) winning = draw...
    Newcastle (a) coasting...conceded two =draw
    Arsenal (a) winning conceded =draw...
    Spuds (h) winning = lost.
Man City (a) winning conceded late = draw.
Sunderland (h) strolling conceded late = draw

Discounting Spuds There's 12 points we've dropped from winning positions..Little wonder we're in the brown stuff.

That pretty much confirms we've been poor; inconsistency, errors and late goals aren't the habits of a team comfortable in the Premier League.

Most of our games are pretty boring as we neither concede nor score many, which is why we have a lot of 1-0's either way. I assure you though that if we were to go 2-0 up n then you start playing, you would not be coming back into it, we're too strong at the back. we've only conceded 2goals or more 4 times this season in the league, and that was to Liverpool (twice), United & City. My hope is Long scores against you, ex players always seem to score against us so about time it was the other way round...

As for wanting Gaston, don't think we'll have much choice as I'm sure you don't want him, think he'll gone this Summer anyway though, most likely back to Italy where I think he'll flourish. Unbelivable talent, just not suited to the PL imo.

I'd keep Gaston, he seems to be adapting more and more. I reckon Southampton will want as much back as they paid for him, which given his rather shaky start, is asking a bit much. If we can loan him again next season I wouldn't be against seeing him in black and amber again.

Don't think we will be wanting anywhere near what we paid, he cost the best part of £12million, and he only has a year left on his deal after this season. I reckon anyone who wants him could get him for £5-7m.

He cost them £12m and at the time was allegedly their highest paid player on £70k a week.

We only signed him as cover for Snodgrass, I doubt we'll have any interest in signing him, even if he is available for half what he cost.

I've had a go at one of them predictor tables...

Had us staying up on GD, on 34pts. Burnley dropping down into the 3rd relegation place by losing to Villa, last game of the season.

3 draws and a win - it was more my heart deciding on the City results than my head, though.
Draws at: Southampton, Palace and Spurs. With us beating Burnley at home (that game is going to be huge! let's hope the hoodoo has been lifted!)
