Dean Hammond should be fit after getting injured in training and Anthony Knockaert might be available after being given compassionate leave. Other then that we have a fully fit squad to choose from so here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Wasilewski Upson Huth Schlupp Cambiasso James Mahrez Vardy Ulloa Subs- Schwarzer, Morgan, Albrighton, Drinkwater, King, Nugent, Kramaric
---------------------------------------------Banks -- --Rodrigues----------------Elliott------------------Walsh---------------Eadie -- -----------------------------------------Roberts -- --Weller--------------------Lennon----------------Gibson--------------Glover -- --------------------------------------Worthington Take that lot on if you think you're 'ard enough, Harry Kane!
I'm beyond caring now, only that I want some of the useless perennial starters out. We know we're going down, I just don't want the average age of our back 5/6 to be 35. Give us a glimpse of the team that could win the Championship next season.
Not sure the back five worked at all against Hull, so back to the drawing board for me. Schwarzer Simpson Upson Huth Morgan De Laet Drinkwater James Mahrez Vardy Kramaric
Would still like to see Kramaric, Ulloa and Albrighton start a game together! not really bothered about anywhere else, just want to see them three play a game but I suppose I might just as well pee in the wind.
Think we'd only have 1 defender left on the pitch after 15 mins!!! I'd play Mick Kennedy in midfield and then we could get the game abandoned with only 7 players left on.
I'm not sure that a back five has worked at all, let alone against Hull..... For different reasons, firstly, it hasn't stopped us from letting in goals and therefore must only be being utilised to limit the amount of goals we let in to a 'respectable' number and secondly, it limits our options up front therefore hampering our chances of scoring. The only reason Vardy keeps a place in the team is because of his speed which is vital when playing this formation as our only chance of scoring is on the break, unfortunately Vardy isn't good enough to hang all our hopes on in this league. Our two record signings either can't get/stay on the pitch or can't get the service they need to score because Albrighton who was obviously brought in to provide that service either can't get on the pitch because he doesnt fit the formation or he just can't do the job required. Schlupp is undoubtedly quick but very little to offer as an end product not to mention that he still doesn't know if he's a defender or a striker but falls short of what we need on both counts. On top of all that, I have never seen a team stand off the opposition so much and so consistently, it's like they are waiting for the other team to make a mistake and give us the ball, our possession stats are appalling! The whole set up is very negative and unlikely to secure us the points we would need to stay up. In short, I'd like to see a 4-4-2 with Ulloa, Kramaric, Nuge and Albrighton on the pitch and harassing, harrying and closing down Spurs whenever they have the ball, which will probably be for around 75% of the match and making Harry Kane at least break sweat for his hat trick. Lose? Quite probably, but I think it's high time we stopped worrying about losing or how many we lose by and started giving ourselves a opportunity to win!
For me it's more about the 'ambition' than the formation ... if we don't 'go for it' we won't win ... end of With going for it in mind Schwarzer Schlupp Huth Upson de Laet Hammond Cambiasso James Mahrez Ulloa Kramaric
Nigel in The Mercury http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...igel-Pearson/story-26181319-detail/story.html ... how about this then Nige .... play your two record signing strikers together ffs!!!!
Please NP tell me what goal chances we created in our home games against West Brom Sunderland Man City Stoke Crystal Palace Hull Let me tell you NP! we created sweet f**k all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another "nuffink to do wi' me, guv" spouting from our embarrassment of a manager. Blame it all on the players! But why is it that Villa, Palace and WBA are playing with virtually the same teams yet a new manager has been able to transform the way they play? It will be interesting to see what Advocaat does for Sunderland so late in the day. Nigel needs to start accepting responsibility. After seeing the owners at the match on Saturday I'm surprised he hasn't gone by now. 3 months too late.
I meant the back five didn't work in terms of personnel rather than formation. We played De Laet and Schlupp (it's normal Konch and Simpson), which should have made us more attack-minded, but somehow we were less effective than usual.
We HAVE to support our striker as we cant score and only wins are good enough really so 2 up top id say is a must! Id like to see: GK: ANYONE - i couldnt care less De Laet Huth Upson Schlupp Alrighton James Cambiasso Mahrez Ulloa Kramaric The back 2 of huth and upson is good enough to play as a pair and the pace of de laet and schlupp helps them out. Real pace here and ability to counter attack, as well as supply quality to a target man and support our most natural finisher in Kramaric Oh PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE play this NP. PLEASEEEEEEEEEE. More chance of growing a testical tree out of my thigh overnight though.
Schmeichel Morgan - Huth - Upson De Laet ---------------------------- Konchesky James - Cambiasso Mahrez ------------------------- Vardy Kramaric
Personally I can see no justification for bringing Kaspar back in or leaving Jeff Schlupp out ... and Konch is a penalty / dangerous free kick or at the very least a booking in waiting ...
