How did we not get anything from that. Shocking defending but going forward we looked dangerous James is a waste of space. I thought Vardy and Nugent was superb Kane 1st goal shocking defending, lucky deflection for the 2nd, dodgy pen for the 3rd and unlucky rebound off Schlupp for the own goal How can we play so well every week, deserve to win games and yet lose. We are so close but so so far
Unlucky, you lot. Probably didn't deserve to lose the Gary Lineker Derby, as our defence was an utter shambles. It's a good sign that your players didn't give up even at the end, despite needing two goals and having little time to get them. Be hard to rescue it now, though. Good luck with it, anyway.
If I were Vardy and Nugent I would be furious at most of the rest of the team, barring possibly Jeff Schlupp who gave his all and his own goal was especially cruel. We lost this game in the first 10 minutes, but misfortune and poor management played a role again. Schmeichel should never have replaced Schwarzer (who incidentally should never have replaced Hamer. Goalkeeping decisions have been a joke this season) and why wasn't Kramaric brought on, especially as Ulloa had a mare! This is up there with the most frustrating results of the season, and there have been a few contenders!
Yeah i think were down and did before today. This game summed our season up, we could have quite easily have won that game, deserved at least a point but yet we lost. We do that nearly every week We are probably the best worst side in Premier League history. Swansea are the only team to beat us from the 1st minute to he last and that only ended 2-0. Tottenham was the first team to put more then 3 past us and no one has beat us by more then 2 goals
Valiant effort after a piss poor first 15 minutes ... great finish from Nugent when all too late and he did some good things including setting up the goal for Vardy (who played well) ... unfortunately Nuge had missed at least 4 chances by that time that you would have expected at least one goal from ... and then gave away a needless penalty at a time when we were well in the ascendency ... yes we were unlucky ... but we are not helping ourselves ... not convinced by Kasper I'm afraid ... the flap at the knock on took it off the defenders head and straight to Kane a yard out for the first ... unlike Nuge (who had 2 at that distance) Harry Kane doesn't miss .... Wes played well and deserved his goal ... we could have actually won that 7-6 .... Thought Jeff Schlupp was excellent - and if Roy was thinking that Kyle Walker should be England's left back, Jeff will have put that squarely to bed .... tore him a new one at every opportunity and created several chances ... just a shame we couldn't take them ... also a shame that Jeff isn't English on that left back piece ... he will be one of the undoubted successes in this troublesome season...
Sorry Filberto, that was never a penalty in a million years. Every source I've read or listened to agrees. I'd love to know how many points refereeing decisions have cost us this season. I thought Nugent was man of the match. It's a shame some of our other players can't read the game as he does. If his finishing was better, he'd be worth about £25m, like Kane. Vardy was good too, but mainly because of his pace. His finishing isn't much better either. Kasper certainly appear to be a bit rusty, but it'll take him a while to get back into the swing of things. I agree Morgan played well again (for the second game in a row), and Schlupp was good as an attacking force, but was often absent defensively. Ulloa put in another underwhelming showing. Was Kane's hat-trick the luckiest of all-time? One tap in, one massive deflection and a penalty that should never have been given that he wasn't involved in winning.
But we can't start playing when we are 2-0 down. James was ****, Drinkwater has to start against West Ham. James spent the game chasing shadows how Cambiasso had to do run our whole midfield something he did a very good job of again Nugent still too wasteful but played very well, set 1 up and scored a beauty. Vardy played very well again and took his goal very well. One thing about them 2 that you can never criticise them for is they never give up and always try their hardest. Schlupp played very well and was unlucky with the own goal and hopefully Big Wes gets some confidence back with his goal. A lot of positives from today but they are not good enough now. We have to carry on doing what we did today and we get on the right side of the scoreline next time. I don't think we can or will stay up but if a miracle is going to happen it will only happen if we are brave and play like we did today
Did you see it Gangsta? ... Nuge takes a touch on the ball played in to the area ... it's a poor touch and it runs away from him ... he then takes out Rose as he stretches to try and correct it ... he doesn't touch the ball ... I watched it live and couldn't argue with it ... if it had been the other way round I'd have been furious if it hadn't been given ... Nuge did lots of things well but he misses two chances on the six yard box one pulled back by Vardy and one by Ulloa ... plus he gets away down the right and his shot goes right across the face ... on the stream I watched the commentator says he should have scored ... for me he has to hit the target ... he's a striker .. Overall he contributed ... I gave him credit ... but a striker who misses 4 or 5 real good chances can't get the man of the match award for me ... but it's all about opinions ... Vardy, Schlupp and Morgan were better for me today ...
Yes of course I saw it. I've seen it several times. I wouldn't pull you up on it if I hadn't. Rose throws himself at Nugent and went down. It was shoulder to shoulder at worst. Sky Sports said it was a shocking decision. The BBC said it was a shocking decision. The commentator on the stream said it was a shocking decision. And I say it was a shocking decision. He's not a a striker he's a centre forward.
Agree with this Proud - fair summary - thought Schlupp was not only good going forward but also very good defensively ... he made so many good blocks and tackles on the left hand side ... and Chadli will have nightmares for weeks about him .... don't quite get Gangsta's thing about him going missing defensively ... he covered an enormous amount of ground today - in fact I think this was just about his best performance this season...
Because when Tottenham attacked down the right, to was usually left to other players to mop up. I even noticed Vardy clearing up at one point. It's not surprising though, you know that Schlupp is going to get forward. Someone has to cover him when he does.
I'll watch it again tonight ... but as I said - I wasn't incensed by the decision ... only with the fact that we had self imploded again when on top ...
I thought Schlupp played really well today both defensively and attacking. Cant fault him for any of the goals not even his own goal As for the pen I think it was incredibly soft but one we would have wanted if it happened to us
I was the reverse really. Sometimes you see a tackle in the area an you wince, even if it's a fair tackle. This never crossed my mind for a second that it was a foul.
Very much my thoughts ... as I said I just felt frustrated because we were on top and looked the most likely to score the next goal ... also don't know why Nuge tried to take that touch ... he could have just played it straight out ... he'd actually done his job by getting to the ball in front of Danny Rose in the first place ... such is life ...
Nigel Pearson interview http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/9770497/pearson-furious-with-arrogant-referee
I wouldn't have expected that if it was the other way around. In fact I'd go as far to say we DEFINITELY wouldn't have got it if it was the other way around.
Trouble is Fosse... a bad touch isn't worthy of a foul. Nugent made an awful decision trying to play out and Rose's opportunism won his team a penalty. Shame that games still get decided this way. It's 2015. It'll be typical and the Prem will introduce the technology when we go down. Schmeichel is today's big culprit though. He's been awful, by a mile his worst season with us. Hamer HAS to start.
Pearson's goalkeeping decisions have been strange at best this season. I thought signing Schwarzer was good but as cover for Hamer, he then displaced him. After a few games, Schwarzer starts playing well too, only to be dropped for Schmeichel, who by all accounts had a pretty poor game for the U21s last week. Hamer must be absolutely fuming!
Depends how you look at it. Kasper is #1. Nige signed Hamer as a #2, as Logan was clearly not good enough. Kasper was injured, so Hamer HAD to come in. In January, with no return date for Kasper, Nige, who always signed Hamer as #2, signed Schwarzer to cover Kasper's injury. In March, Kasper returned to the team after completing a few weeks of training following his injury. Makes perfect sense to me, even if Hamer and Schwarzer were in good form when dropped. Hamer will likely be well aware that he was signed as a #2 and his chances would be limited. I don't think he'll be fuming at all, I think he'll just be glad he performed well when given the opportunity.
