Some people think the only motivation in life is money, but it's only one factor. It's not as though they'd be ****ing paupers playing for a mid-table team, and having that quality playing regularly further down the league could only improve it.
As you say, agents are largely responsible for the money chasing, and young, impressionable players are star-struck when they look in the mirror.

  4. I don't agree with the 'only interested in money' argument either. Obviously, that is the case for some players but not all. I think most players think about their careers first and money second but I don't think many would chose a club for one or the other, it must be both in most cases.

It annoyed me when I heard it said for the likes of K.Toure, S.Nasri and G.Clichy when leaving Arseanl to join Man City. Arsenal hadn't won anything for a while and didn't really look like doing so any time soon either. Fair enough, you could say Man City hadn't won anything either but they were clearly going places and it was only a matter of time before they did win. The fact that got more money in the process was just a bonus IMO.

There are without doubt some very silly and ill advised players out there though. Rodwell, Sinclair and SWP being perfects examples.

    I did say "some" people.
I'm also thinking about young players who've had limited experience but have obvious talent, thinking they're ready for the big time when they'd be better served all round by staying and playing at a slightly lower level.
Kolo and Clichy had already played 6 or 7 seven years at Arsenal level so could be forgiven in thinking it was time for a move.

  7. The players I listed were all young when they made the "crazy" move too. Plus one of them was recently criticised publicly by 'Arry for refusing to move from QPR because of money reasons.

Look the guy is under 24 so it goes to a tribunal. That's just it so if the trubunal price might be 4 or 6 mil for example it kind of makes sense to agree it now privately

  9. I know (and indicated as much in the post you quoted) but the tribunal fee wouldn't be as much as £5m!

    Yes but no

I excluded his spores be for villa recently in my own mind as it is a new loan that signals him moving on maybe

He played 12 for city and 8 for west brom so for the period for his city career until this move it is 20

You could of course have used your super powers to have read my mind and seen this is what my obtuse point was in saying 20

Manchester City are weighing up a move for Burnley striker Danny Ings, 22, who will be out-of-contract in the summer. (Manchester Evening News)

oh [lease let this be true. this is the ideal test for the gobshite. if he signs there he's career is over for the cash so we don't want a plaer like that. it'd be hard enough for him to get into our team v coutinho, sterling, sturridge right? so go there and he might get a loan by 26 and 3/4 games... city just want a warm body with a HG tag... thats all.
