  2. Not a Liverpool rumour but I see Tom Ince moved again. Whats that now? Five clubs since he left us in 2011...? And he was at Blackpool for two and a half years of that too <doh>

I remember a lot of whining at the time that we let him go / didn't fight to bring back

  4. Not from me. Never happy to see youngsters leave but he was behind Sterling, Ibe and Shelvey in the pecking order, none of which had broke into the first team at that point either.

he is loaned from hull to derby so mcclaren wants him to replace ibe.

I am SURE he'll try a leg and do a bit of work and do quite well at the lower level...

I think he's fukced it up worse than scott sinclair cos at least sinclair has sucked in the cash to not care i suppose.

Sinclair has gone to villa? on loan? so that means its his last chance he's 26 and on loan.

Because for some reason, my first response didn't appear as a direct answer to your quote. Knowing how ****ing dense you are, I just thought I'd make it clear for you. <laugh>

Its a lesson to any young player going to Chelsea or Man City, unless you are Lionel Messi at 18 and guaranteed first team football then don't bother. If they still want you and the player still wants the move they'll pay the bigger price for 25+yr old.

This is the real reason England suck at international level. Too many young players get the big move too early and then end up sitting on the bench at the key time in their development.

Sinclair missed his England chance and I wouldn't think he'll get near it again.

  12. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, 21, in the summer in a move which could put 29-year-old centre-back Gary Cahill's future at Stamford Bridge in doubt. (Daily Mail)

Would anyone like Cahill at Liverpool...? I wanted us to sign him from Villa before Chelsea got him.

No, he's ruined now. Unlike Sturridge, he's played loads of games for them and has been poisoned by their mentality.

hed be in my team ahead of Skrtel that's for sure.

How much would you pay though? £8m and 100k?

  15. Burnley striker Danny Ings, 22, has rejected a move to Real Sociedad because he wants to sign for Liverpool in the summer. (Daily Mirror)

Liverpool are set to agree a £5m deal in the next few weeks to sign Ings in the summer, as long as the Premier League agrees to the move. (Independent)

    If true...

Five million quid!!!! FIVE MILLION!!! He's out of contract for gods sake. They'd only get about £300k from Real Sociedad, if we let it go to compensation it wouldn't cost that much either. We're the worst club in the at negotiating!

  16. I'd take him. He's better than most of our CBs and I think Cahill and Sakho would make for a good partnership too.

Good question on cost and I think this is where we'd drop our interest. I'd imagine around the £10m-£15m mark and £100k per week

  17. Hopefully a bit of truth in this one...

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho, 22, has agreed a new long-term contract that will reportedly keep the Brazilian at Anfield until 2020. (Daily Star)

...obviously the Liverpool website would have announced it though.

    Exactly.

Too many young players showing a bit of talent for a season or two think they're the Dog's Bollocks and deserve to play in the CL teams.
The moneybags teams automatically hoover them up and they spend some of what should be the best years of their careers playing 10 minutes here and there.
Plenty of money, but no actual football.
    Such a waste.

  19. But to make it as a professional footballer, a player must have confidence in their own ability. That confidence usually is larger than their actual ability, almost an arrogance if you like. I'd question a player not believing they're good enough to join such teams. Sure, as outsiders we can look in a see that a player is unlikely to achieve anything from certain transfers but the player must believe they can reach the top. Only way they can truly test themselves is by joining the top sides.

I'm not arguing that these young players are doing the correct thing, they clearly aren't. but i think its more a case of the people advising them are wrong rather than the actual player. Of course, the main person advising them is their agent and we all know what their interests are.
