Did we settle on an idea after 9 pages of comments. I started reading but then skipped to page 9. Can somebody summarise? Did we decide on a Not606 one or one for everybody?
It's one for everyone, but with mention of not606. I think we go pretty much as maulled1904 first drew it. http://www.not606.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34289
Just one small thing with that banner, it should say NOT606, rather than NOT 606, as it reads like it's not a 606 banner.
Good point. Someone else suggested adding "fans forum" to it, so it reads "Hull City not606 fans forum" Any thoughts from anyone? Personally I think it's great we're already down to considering the detail.
I dont like the reference to the board, it makes it seem cliquey and aids to a split between fans groups. There's already a big 'them and us' attitude caused by Allam and this only adds to that. Ace design though, if a bit yellow
I know what you mean about the not606. I've thought that myself, but at the end of the day, so far it's people on here that have contributed, and we're not excluding anyone at all from being a part of it. Ultimately, it's a banner for Hull City fans, no matter where they discuss games and hopefully it'll be used in all sorts of places. As for the colour, we've got some really good advice from people that have created City flags and banners, and they had one hell of a job getting the colour right, but after quite a chunk of work by them, they've got the codes that the companies recognise for our amber. The support from all areas is first class. It's really showing what a fantastic group Hull City fans are.
So you think the Ulltras should not have their name on their flags? Kinell. It's a Not606 organised (by Dutch) banner. Why shouldn't it have Not606 on it? Cliquey? FFS Fans are cliquey, or tribal, its part of the fun, different sections, different ways to have fun. Carry on Dutch, you're doing a fab job.
I don't get when it became a not606 banner specifically. I agree with everything else in your summary there Dutch but I think if it has any names of groups on it should have all of them including HCSS, CTWD and any others who help. Like bummers, I'm concerned that it's cliquey just putting one group's name on it. All or none for me.
Without this forum, it wouldn't have happened. There was nowt to stop AN or CI or CTWD doing something similar. They haven't. This forum has. Christ, why do you seek to throw up divisions all the time? Its a banner showing our support to Brucie, arranged on this forum. Anyone of those groups could join this forum and debate freely if they wish, most do I suspect. Its a banner for Brucie with the site it was arranged on's name on it. Why the drama? It looks clean, Mauled's design is awesome, the colours are great, its got Brucies head on it and the sites name.
I think as it was raised on here and the name was put on the original draft, people have followed that through. There's a big desire for it to be a gesture of support from the fans to the club and not anything political (with a small p). I totally and completely accept the invaluable support given by groups from many areas and I'll happily go with the flow. My personal position is that I'm happy with the not606 part, but feel anything else opens up other cans of worms, but more than happy to change if it's what the majority want. What about a compromise, where the groups use their undoubted contributions to the flag in their literature? Something like, "the OSC supported and assisted fans and worked with other groups in the creation of a banner..."? That way they get credit for the support and we show unity within the fans?
Ignoring the point really. What makes it a not606 banner and not a HCSS, CTWD or any of the individuals who've donated one?
I think the printers name should go in it, as well as the clubs, the premier league logo, the FA logo, the UEFA logo, the FIFA logo and Dutch's name. It should also have hull reds on as they still come to our games too.
The Ulltras have a big 'Ulltras- Singing, Standing, Supporting' banner, but other than that they don't put their name on their flags. I don't particularly care either way.
Was all this discussed somewhere else before this thread went up ? It started out saying the design was just an initial thing but it seems some people are saying it was always a 'In Bruce We Trust' flag/banner I'm not trying to be negative here btw I think it's a good idea in general
Missing the point entirely. It's a not606 banner because the idea was conceived and developed on this forum. People are donating cash to it. They are not sponsoring it. I cant decide if you're deliberately being obtuse or not. It seems very clear to me. It's a flag, to show the fans support of Bruce, as a result of something started on this forum. An open forum anyone can participate, read, write, whatever on. No joining fees. No badges. Just an open forum. Meh, feel like I'm banging my head against a wall here.
Given that Hull City Southern Supporters have provided the means to collect the money, is it not reasonable for them to receive a name check on the flag? Not that they are asking for one as far as I'm aware, but it seems a reasonable thing to offer them.
