What's going to happen with all the excess cash? Judging by the sums people are sticking in the flag must be paid for and then some...
What makes it a not606 flag is the vote. I know its marginal but I quite like the idea that its a not606 banner. It only becomes a divisive issue if we let it. After all the contributions he's made to this thread I'm looking forward to seeing Happy declare his donation and how much it is.
Oh dear. Sorry but when it's decided what's happening, and I do donate, I won't be posting to say I have or how much. I'm quite clearly not as shallow or as needy of attention as you are. Or as snidey either for that matter. I don't want my name on the flag either btw, just in case that wasn't obvious,
Happy's stumping up the shortfall he created by making sure CTWD couldn't get involved and use their discount.
Why would you put the name of this ****ty forum on it? It's not like it's an independent Hull City forum, it's just naff forum network catering for every club in the league. In summary it's ****e and not worth mentioning.
As I've already said once, this forum isn't even the only place its been discussed. The only constant I can see is Dutch himself. He's acknowledged the support of the fanbase as a whole in this. Just because you've only seen it on here, doesn't mean it's only been a not606 thing. I think it'd be wrong and unfair on a lot of other groups if only not606 is acknowledged. It really should be all or none.
You're making out as if I'm slating the effort or I'm against the principle. I'm not, I think it's a great idea. Lots of fans groups for all kinds of clubs have their specific names on flags, I just wouldnt have the name of a UK wide standardised forum network on there. But it's got nowt to do with me so do whatever you want
Although I think it's a great idea for a flag, I won't be paying anything towards it. I can't get to see every home match due to shortage of cash so this would be an unneccesary expense for me. Thumbs up to those willing to pay though.
To be fair, the issue was born on this forum and certainly in these early stages, has been largely promoted on the forum, so I do feel it's fair to offer something back to the siteowner for helping pull together the community in the first place. There are an awful lot of individuals that have played a crucial roll in pulling this together, some of those individuals had links to groups, and those groups themselves have offered invaluable support. As grateful as we all should be to them, the banner would look a mess with all of those people and groups listed. It would also lead to people refusing to be involved if certain groups get a mention. The original drawing by maulled, had not606 on, and that was the design that people came forward to help come to life, so I do feel an attachment to leaving the not606 on. It's a Hull City Community banner that shows support for the club. The key message is that Hull City fans back Steve Bruce. How about a big photo shoot, with all the groups represented and their logos prominently displayed for publicity? We could even ask the Club if they'd let a joint representation of all the groups present it to Steve Bruce personally?
Or even a press conference saying why we've done it and then unveil the flag. We may get TV coverage from the BBC and Sky among others. Especially if it was around the usual pre-match interviews.
I wouldnt do it that day, nearly every club holds its pre match presser on a Thursday (for Saturday games) so they're never short of soemthing to give airtime to on a Thurs and Fri. The best time would be a Tuesday when there's no midweek matches or even an international week. They're desperate for any news then.
This is a quite a good unconditional show of support(from the Dortmund fans)... please log in to view this image "And if you fall I’m with you"
That for me is what this started out as. I dont give a **** about publicity and all that bollocks. It was an idea from Dutch on here and it snowballed on here. I stated early on it should be ours and ctwd makes it political. I want no part of that. ctwd can ask all their members to donate to their own banner. Same as CI AN etc. If some are members of all 3 they choose to give to one all or not at all. This one should say Hull City Not606 on it. Of course others have helped, the club being among them according to Dutch. No need to namecheck everyone. We can, as Dutch has, thanked them on here. Lets not get bogged down in politics as some seem to want to. How long are we going to keep the donations going till Dutch?
That's a very good question. I think it'll peak and then die down, but I want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to be involved, either by donation or advice. I'm waiting for quotes, so we've some slack yet, but I'd guess the quotes will be soonish, so assuming it's all dying down, what about drawing a line next Monday? What does anyone reckon?
What's the donations up to and what's happening with the excess IMO all should be used on the flag making it as lavish as possible.
Lovely idea as that is, I think it's rather unrealistic to think that Sky or the BBC are going to be remotely interested in us making a flag.
