Last season it took us 4 games to get 10 points, this season it took 7.

But

After 10 games last season we had 20 points.

Win our next 3 games and we will have 19 points from 10 matches.

Not to far behind aye.

Next 3: QPR, Hull, Newcastle.

I said something similar the other day. I didn't mention the points but I said we needed to be winning the next four games. We won the first today <ok>

Read this in the other thread.

Read something similar to this recently.

The season is panning out so disturbingly like the first Rodgers season. I really hope I am wrong.

Even the threads (like this one) and the posts resemble those of that year rather than those of last year's...<whistle>

I cannot wait for Sturridge to come back though. The block of four should be well within our grasp.

We've had a poor start yet we're only a point outside the top four. Once Sturridge is back we'll see a different team.

QPR, Hull, and Newcastle next. We probably won't get 9 points... but it's possible. Three of the most winnable games. After that it is Chelsea at Home.

We need a good run of four wins to get the confidence back up ahead of the Chelsea game. May be able to take points off them if we cross our fingers, make a wish on the second star to the right, and carry a four leaf clover.

block 1 we took 6 points. thats 2 off 4th place target

block 2 so far we have only 4 points and max is 7.. again 1 point off 4th place target

So the next block of 4 after QPR is:

Hull City H
Newcastle A
Chelsea H
Palace A

now sorry but that is a hard block right now. the away games are both tough, no favours coming there so anyone like coutinho who phones it in and doesn't work will kill us. hull cannot defend... if we don't beat them i'll want to know why. I rate a few of thier players no question but at anfield we should be winning that.

cheslea is a can't win game. we can't expect to stand up v cheslea and take anything cos frankly we aint at their level.

so..............................

we are right now tracking for 60 odd points but not 70... thats the reality. thats why improvement is required sharpish cos we all know thats not enough no matter what anyone else is doing. We focus on us and maximise the points return between now and january and hope to god someone is bought to give us a boost.

the thing is 6 points/12 isn't a total diasater, not is 7/12 but if it continues and we don't hit a bit of form (last year 11 wins in a row was mighty form) where we take 10/12 a couple times we are going to fall away.

Sorry, late again!

As things Stand, following our point to game ratio of: 1.4 Points
We are due to finish our 38th game with: 54 Points

Not the best start! :( I am using the narrative below from MITO to analyse the goings on <cool>

block 1 we took 6 points. that is 2 off 4th place target (8 points per block required)
block 2 so far we have only 4 points and max is 7.. again 1 point off 4th place target

Looking at the next block after the QPR game. I am sorry to say but that is a hard block right now. the away games are both tough, no favours coming there so anyone like Coutinho who phones it in and doesn't work will kill us. hull cannot defend... if we don't beat them i'll want to know why. I rate a few of their players no question but at Anfield we should be winning that.

(Chelsea Comment taken out, I agree they are difficult though)

Next 3 games are all very winnable. That would give us 19 from 10 games which isn't far off the 2 point per game average needed for 4th place and given we are only 1 point behind Arsenal, Spurs & United, we're bound to move ahead of at least 1 of them.

Early days, but Allen & Sturridge back and Can nearly back we should be able to hopefully kick on again.

Agreed if we input wins around the Chelsea game we get last 60 points

My predicted final tally right now is 72 points that's high end, 66 points low end
