Many who go now are there to see the big boys. This will soon wear off.

Winning a cup is something we've never done before, to dismiss it as you have stinks of the "too big for their boots" attitude described in the OP.

Dont think anyones said they didnt care. Just the bigger picture. Some fans who went appear to just want a new experience drinking in different pubs. Obviously they look the type too fearful to actually book a flight to a foreign City off their own bat and have a good time.

We put a bloody good side out. At times last season that was the first choice back 5. We had Meyler Jake and Elmo, all first choice and Brady who was before injury. Up front Aluko who was first choice before injury and Sagbo who everyone sadi deserved a chance.

I wanted to progress but one thing i noticed. Meyler and Elmo do more running than anyone. Meyler played the away leg, he came on against Stoke and looked ****ed. Elmo played against Stoke with 10 men and did the least running I've ever seen him do against Lokeren at the KC.

It takes its toll, much as we all think they can play twice a week easy, its not true.

So what good came of Middlesborough and Fulham reaching the final? Both in the Championship now.
However it did result in both of their Managers going on to manage England on the back of that "success". Maybe Bruce should have picked a different team after all?

Why does our football club even exist if we're just going to throw the ****ing towel in when we achieve the dream of European football?

What are we playing for exactly?

Is that relevant? I'll raise you Athletico Madrid, Chelsea & Porto.

On a serious note, I'd be happy to be in the Championship if it meant we'd won a European Trophy.

The OP has, in fact he said he'd be happy if Lokeren leathered us.

EDIT: for correction, he actually said he "wouldn't care" but it reads like he'd be happy.

    You've contradicted yourself dipshit.

Winning a cup where the prize is equal to finishing in the top 4 tells you something about the importance of that cup. So by your reckoning there's no point being in the PL unless you're looking at winning it.

Great, let's get ourselves back to the championship then. In fact the lower the league the better, higher chance of winning a trophy.

Many of those players we put out have international caps. I doubt (but can't be arsed to check) that the same can be said of their team.
They should have been capable of winning. Who's to say our "first team" wouldn't also have lost because they were still ****ed from playing in the Stoke game.

It's not about hull city, it's about seeing Stevie G, Rooney, Lamps & co live on our doorstep.

I never said we would have lost of Premiership status had we progressed to the Group stages but Bruce would have still used the squad rotation for those group games.
For me, it had nothing to do with the quality of the players that Bruce put out. More to do with the fact that most of that team do not play regularly together in the same side. Maybe that understanding would have improved had that team progressed and played more regularly together but we'll never know.

It's about seeing your team win Stevie G's team 3-1, or seeing your team winning Rooney's team 2-0 after 20 minutes because you never thought your team would be able to compete at this level and then been able to laugh at the c**ts who have lived in Hull all their lives but turn up at McDonalds in their Liverppol FC trackie top.

Go all out to win the league cup Mr Bruce .

Especially as no one else seems to take it serious.

I want to see us WIN something before I kick the bucket.

I went to Belgium and sort of wanted more of it but could not be anymore than mildly fed up with not progressing.

My view, for what it is worth, is that to complain that we are not the FA cup holders and are no longer in the Europa League, is failing to accept that all of this is a side show to the big event. The Premier League.

I would suffer the consequences of relegation to protect our great club's heritage, but I would protect league status against any transient cup progression - these early season PL games are hugely important for us. We build the foundations and then we look to build a tower of achievement; if all of this comes tumbling down the feeling, after all that everyone has put in, would be terrible.
