It's a shame we don't play Man Utd until December, because Van Galling's given us a large pile of ammunition to unload in his general direction.
21 West Ham and Newcastle fans have been arrested for fighting each other... in Germany. Both teams have games today in the Schalke Cup, with the Geordies already losing 3-1 to Malaga and the Spammers facing the hosts in a little while. Great advert for English football, eh?
It's only the pre-season and Benfica sold their best defender, who we should've been in for. No idea how he ended up at Zenit, barring money, of course. Galatasaray won the Emirates Cup last season and the New York Red Bulls won the one before that. Wouldn't read too much into it.
Karren Brady to be made a Tory peer. Is this because of her talents at being a glorified talent show judge - or is it returning a favour for West Ham, Newham Council and the Olympic Park Legacy Company colluding so another Tory peer and his pals at UK Athletics could get a shiny new stadium at no cost to themselves?
Yes, I was going to comment on that a day or two ago, but thought, she's not worth the time. Who's next to be elevated to the peerage for taking the OS off the gvt's hands? Sullivan or Gold?
Arsenal's second-biggest shareholder Alisher Usmanov believes the club are to enter an era of winning trophies. (Source: BBC Football website) You keep telling yourself that, pal, if it makes you feel better.
Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, 36, is ready to carry on playing for England after joining Manchester City on loan. (Source: Daily Star) Please! Tell me this is some kind of sick joke!
Man Utd have had quite a good USA tour. The Real Madrid game will be a nice confidence booster for them.
But then reading that half of them are not wanted won't boost the confidence much. Looks like several new players to arrive, that will cause disruption.
Van Gaal is preparing for the next 10 years. It's hard to see much of this current squad remaining at United for the next 5 years, let alone 10.
No chance. Even with the money they've spent, they are still no match for the depth and strength of either Chavs or £ity. Plus, Whinger has proven himself mentally weak when pitted against Mourhino; so he's not got a cat's in Hell chance of out-witting Van Gaal.
Well done to Tommy Huddlestone and Jake Livermore and Hull City, for coming through their qualifying game this evening and being in the draw tomorrow. 2-1 on the night after a 0-0 last week. Good to see two of our ex players doing well.
The glory days gone forever, overhyped and overpaid for the talent level, in need of better foreign players to shine, unable to score, a long, unbroken record of disappointing appearances in international play... ...fits in perfectly for England, really. Yes, I'm very pleased for Huddlestone and Livermore, excellent people by all accounts. Hull seems to be just the right team for them. It's good to think of them and the Hull fans enjoying their success. Strange they don't get games for England, though with such fabulously successful internationals as Lampard ahead of them it's understandable.
