Mourinho seems to have some sort of problem with strikers. If Costa gets injured, he's left with Torres, who looks shot. And a 36yr old Drogba, who I think will be good for cameos, but not much else.

As for Lukaku, I like him - he scores goals! And that's what it's all about for any striker.

If Costa turns out like Soldado last season, the Chavs will be in the ****e

PNP - thats an amazing stat.

I too would have taken him for £28m, but that doesn't change the fact i think Chelsea got a good price.

Drogba will DEFINITELY score against us this season. Lets not mock him too much til we don't have to play him please

Only if he can drag his ancient body off the bench? Just made myself feel very old

Drogba is sufficiently clinical even at his age to take meagre chances against
poor back fours. So us and the Goons are easy pickings.

"Good job we won't have a poor back four this season!"

We won't know until Drogba plays against them.
Not conceding against him is like an Elf and Safety 'basic worthiness' certificate.

Whys that SD, is it because Verts appears to be happy and we have apparently signed the next John Terry!?

Cause we have a manager that knows how to organise a team - Soton conceded 5 goals less than us, depite winning 6 less games and having a better goal difference - tells me he knows how to defend.

We did get hammered by Liverpool (twice), City (twice) and Chelsea away so I wouldn't use any comparisons between us and saints as we obviously had a turbulent season, yet the manager that gets slated on here completed the double over Pochettino.

Lots of us have concerns about the new manager but the truth is that there were big problems with sherwood.

Out smarted by fat sam (TWICE)
battered by Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea.
his constant going on about his fantastic win percentages...(while conveniently ignoring his cup record... 1 win; 1 draw; 4 losses)
his slagging off of the players..."they are all much of a muchness"

the appoinment of him and avb were very unfunny jokes...this one could be the same but most fans want to get behind him (hence the pro pochettino comments on here)

Its up to Pochettino to win us over, but he won't be booed at the first game in charge, fans will give him a chance and there will be no excuses if he fails as posts on a forum aren't going to have any impact on his career with us.

VDV to QPR?

Hamburg playmaker Rafael van der Vaart says there has been no contact from Harry Redknapp over a possible move to QPR.
The pair worked together at Tottenham and Redknapp said recently he was keen on a reunion with the playmaker.
Van der Vaart, 31, tells BILD: "Harry Redknapp has not been in touch with me. He has not phoned me. In football you never know, but so far we have not been in touch. Harry Redknapp and I enjoyed a really great relationship back at Tottenham. He is a top-quality manager."

Personally, I'm pro giving the guy a chance. Logic tells me that Levy must get one right eventually. Anyway, after AVB and Sherwood, how bad can he be? On second thoughts, don't answer that! Best not to tempt fate!..
