Surely we can reject for now on the basis that a medical (I don't know exactly what they entail), could hamper his recovery / he could break down and a deal would fall through?
Or is a medical purely testing for underlying conditions rather than current fitness?
However if Saints get 20m + for a player who wouldn't have been able to play for us for minimum first 2 months of the season and then need to get back to business I wouldn't be surprise if the board sells. Especially when you consider that he only has 18 months left on his contract and doesn't seem like he will sign a new one (and probably, like all the others, will ask to leave for minimum double wages)
If a replacement is sorted it could be one of the more sensible pieces of business, top scorer last season or not (a big IF I know)
