Haha fair play, though we did get turned over 3 times in a season by West Ham! While getting spanked by Chelsea, City (twice!) and Liverpool (twice!) in the process, so it's more than evened itself out there.
With the form of our defence last season, starting with pretty much 1 or 2 goal deficits became the norm for us.
Poch is very rigid with his system of play (no plan B) and we sometimes struggled against teams who sat deep, a tactic a lot of teams will employ at White Hart Lane. Cardiff, Sunderland, Stoke, WHU all of were poor on their travels all managed to take points off us by sitting deep.
Then you clearly haven't watched Schneiderlin. It was in the press that our board put a £27M price tag on him - his passing, tackling, interceptions and distance run statistics and consistently amongst the best in the league AND he counts as home grown.
He was a couple of months short of qualifying as home grown IIRC. Edit: Premierleague.com has him down as home grown. I might be thinking of Bialkowski.
Indeed. And bear in mind that every manager is now fairly well genned up on the subject of the high line pressing game. Certain pundits may think it's new, but we'd been doing it for almost two years. It won't be as easy now. This is where Poch could be a busted flush.
And you need the right players to do it effectively. I'm looking forward to seeing Adebayor and Soldado pressing high.
Good to see Jayrod doing this. Click then Link in his tweet: https://mobile.twitter.com/JayRodriguez9/status/499269242169344001 Sorry if already posted.
