If I was to recommend anyone from the Watford team it would be Almen Abdi - a shade older than McGugan and has had his injury problems, but very creative and classy IMO. He made them tick the season they nearly got promoted and him missing most of last season was a big part in their struggle.
If true, I can sort of imagine McNally phoning up whoever made those bids and just laughing his head off until they hung up. I'd hope we'd want 3 times that.
Can someone do a match day thread for the Braintree game tonight ?, i`m sure some of you Twitterazi guys will be informed ..
Adams has confirmed there's plenty of interest and have had inquiries for players but no acceptable bids.
i wonder how much southampton would be demanding for nathan redmond were the boot on the other foot? huge potential, english teenager, exciting to watch. my guess would be £15m. so far: the press seem to think that ruddy will leave if we receive a bid of £6m the press seem to think that fer will leave if we receive a bid of £6m. the press seem to think that hooper will leave if we receive a bid of £6m. the press seem to think that redmond will leave if we receive a bid of £6m. truth is, none of those players will leave for that amount. it would take a lot more.
Supers - as I said on another thread, my the only player on your list I expect to leave is Fer, but I would hope we're holding out for at least £10M!!!!
This is desperately waiting for a joke about us only being able to count up to the number of fingers on one hand...
i'd take mcgugan 100% - have long thought he was a great little player - kind of player that once he gets to the prem, which i'm fairly confident he will - he'll go through one of his purple patches, scored a couple of long range beauts and suddenly be worth 12 million...i call it, doing a charlie adam... sign him up...
Naughty Rob, but I agree with Supers and am sure that would be the case if any leave. Snodgrass was different, given that Hull were willing to pay over the odds and it was enough to pay for both Lafferty and Grabban. IMO, Adams wants to have more pace on the flanks than Snods' has. It's also good to see Surman slotting in effectively on the left side of the diamond. He's like another signing this year. It's beginning to look like Adams is going to use both the diamond and a 4-4-2, which could also allow for some natural rotation of players (ie. Wes and Surman playing in the diamond, but not in the 4-4-2). The choice of strikers would probably also change.
We already knew/know this but look at the way this tweet is worded - and spot the deliberate mistake!!! WTF?
From last season, Olsson was virtually the only player who showed anything like Premiership form and should, imho, have been awarded POTS. Little wonder if he wishes to continue playing at that level - he, of all our squad, deserves the right to do that. But as back up to Cresswell!!! Get real, Sam!
watford fans really don't rate McGugan, from what they were saying last season he has a habit to go missing for large portions of the game and doesn't want to do the hard work.
If he can rattle them in like this from 35 yards, who needs too much hard work? Great free kick - but you do have to factor in the calibre of the opposition though
i know. but that's exactly the same issue with leroy fer. if he didn't have flaws such as these he would be playing in the premier league for a top side. he's still a very talented midfielder who can burst forward and score goals, something we need, especially if fer exits. at championship level he would be a good signing for us, not that i think we are interested
