I'd be VERY surprised if there's any truth in that rumour - Fer must be worth considerably more than Snoddy and NA is on record as saying that no one will leave cheaply!!!
My guess would be that they have cut and pasted the rumour which is making the rounds here. Why should lazy journalism be the sole province of this country?
Just seen it confirmed - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...s_left_norwich_city_to_join_everton_1_3684362. Bizarre indeed!!!
It's strange, but I've just had a look on the QPR NewsNow site and there is no mention of Fer whatsoever. We may be over-reacting here.
Lots of "rumours" about our players on the verge of departure, but very quiet on traffic the other way. Apart from rehashed Rhodes stories.
We NEED a creative attacking midfielder! We needed it last season and we still need it this season. Come on City! Get your arse in gear!
Yeah, look at them all queuing up to join us! Did you not see our vigorous attempts to sign one at each of the previous two windows? We can't FORCE people to come!
We will be looking for a lower quality, or at least less experienced player now. And we'll be a far better proposal to that demographic than we were to players like tiovenen and Quag.
As posted on the Fer leaving thread: The QPR rumour has been well and truly buried by Leroy's agent: http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/...-redknapp-plays-down-link-with-tottenham-man? Let's not take every speculative blog site rumour so seriously in future.
RVW makes the squad for Braintree along with Wes and Pilks. Could This quell talk that he's on the way out for a week or so at least.
Toivonen and Quagliarella were the type of players we were looking to take us to the next level, it was always going to be a stretch to get someone like that, but they would potentially have seriously improved our team. This season we're still after someone to take us up a level, but we've got less to attract them with. I don't think the job has got any easier, we're just looking at a lower caliber of player. Ideally, we still need to convince someone of Premier League quality to play at a lower level than they're capable of for a season or two, which won't be easy. If we're going to make such a signing, I think it'll likely be someone from abroad nobody's ever heard of, at a reasonably low price. Similar to Tettey signing I guess.
That sounds about right DH. As for tonight's squad, RvW seems to have taken Becchio's place. Is he off to Kings Lynn with Bassong and Jacob Murphy (who apparently has made way for Pilks)?
What do people think of Lewis McGugan for the ACM role? He had a good season last year at Watford, and is a good age at 25 as well. We've not been linked with him, but it's who I'd like us to sign. Nick Powell would be a very good one for us as well, not sure if he's gone back out on loan though?
Also returning is Martin Olsson who according to Adams has had his shoulder surgery and was granted leave due to a family illness so is a bit behind in term of fitness but not to bad. the full squad: Steven Whittaker, Bradley Johnson, Russell Martin (c), Michael Turner, Lewis Grabban, Jonny Howson, Kyle Lafferty, Gary Hooper, Anthony Pilkington, Mark Bunn (GK), Wes Hoolahan, Jamar Loza, Elliott Bennett, Javier Garrido, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Josh Murphy, Nathan Redmond, Martin Olsson, Ryan Bennett, Alexander Tettey, Andrew Surman, Adel Gafaiti. Add another ACM, Nick Powell would be awesome and I'd say from that point forward we should just replace anyone who leaves.
